Bhai even steve smith choked in ipl 2017 final. Then again jis team m hahane hoga woh kabhi nahi jeetegi no matter how weak the opposition is in the finals. Steve smith in australian colors is a different beast altogether.

IPL is too insignificant a tournament to conclude that Smith is a choker. For him IPL is just a place to earn quick bucks, Aussies don't care about T20, that too one played in a different continent altogether. 

 

Pak ke khilaaf Hahane to bench me thaa, no excuses yaar. Kohli has failed miserably in big matches while chasing, time to accept the fact. This may change in the future but right now, he is a pucca choker.

what i meant is that if hahane is in the squad then we won't win any tournament. He isn't called Jinx for no reason.

Some people here are talking nonsense. Kohli played finals in WC 2011 Final, CT 2013, World T20 and CT 2017. Of these, he was top scorer in CT 2013 Final by scoring 40 odd in a 20 over game and top scored in World T20 2014 Final by scoring 77 not out. That's 2 out of 4 times which is pretty good. 

 

Besides this, he has top scored in knock out games like World T20 2014 Semi Final, World T20 2016 Semi Final and also in high pressure games against Pakistan in 2015 World Cup, World T20 2012, World T20 2014, World T20 2016 and Asia Cup 2016 which resulted in wins among other significant knocks. This is a phenomenal effort in high pressure games and knock out games which hardly anybody can pull off. We should be glad we have someone like Kohli who delivers when it matters and wins games for us.

Removing t20s for time being where Kohli is ATG, Kohli has failed in two big games. Semifinal in World Cup 2017. He dropped a simple catch.Then had a horrendous batting display. Again CT2017 final against Pakistan,his attitude on the ground was of a loser right when Pakistan had upper hand throughout. Followed it up with a failure in batting. He does seem to choke but would be alright in future?

All I can say its very easy to talk with a keyboard in your hand. Learn to give credit to players who deserve it and not talk out of your ass.

He has done well twice in finals as well. Anyway, this is a useless debate.

Don't think it got anything to do with final. He probably knew he made a blunder with his team selection as soon as he saw that flukar guy running away with the match. His brain froze probably half way point of the first innings. Probably unfroze after the match. Mammoth total. Under pressure to chase it with a tag of best chaser in the history. He mentally lost this time. He will come back strongly. But people are upset with him because India lost its bragging rights over Pakistan (even if it may be for a small time) because of his not so bright on-field decisions.

World Cup 2011 finals innings was good. Nothing much was expected of him then. Not much pressure. CT 2013 innings was indeed valuable but it came batting first. OK here maybe nitpicking.

Actually more than failing the way he failed in the two matches (Wc2015 and CT2017) clearly point towards pressure getting hold of him unlike his image.He is hard working and will rectify this in future but doesn't mean there is no problem with him now.

Kohli is a champion ODI batsman and I love watching him bat when in full flow. He's got time to sort out his record in finals, but that is not what he should be judged on.

 

He's still got a lot to do in the format that matters the most. For a guy with his stroke making ability, his patience and defence have been found wanting. He will improve I'm sure.
