It can be still done if it's used sensibly. Play and just keep playing domestic for a year and prove that you can come back and come back only to test cricket. Even broad went for 36 in an over which put England out of the contest. He gathered himself well. England looked after him well. BCCI need to just make sure they don't select him and let him play domestic.

He had a really good 2008 season Made a big impression against Australia away and then man of the series against them at home Bowled well against SA at home, helped win a test in SL. Not bad against England at home at the end of the year. Nothing ever since, apart from one good away series against a awful WI team in 2011. One season wonder.

MOS in WI too.....thought he was a revelation and then 8-0 happened where he did bowl well in patches. 2013 in the first half had decent "stats" in ODI(won't comment on anything else....not the right day :haha:) SO yeah he has been off again and on again where as some others have just plain sucked

the bad news is that atleast ECB has a brain, and in India.. BCCI have the acumen for developing fast bowlers.....He needs atleast a year out of the team and someone who can help him restart his rebuilding process from scratch... because he will be mentally broken after today's game.

Your not the first to still hold onto Ishant's promise, I guess maybe not the last as well. Ishant is just 24, so yeah its not all over for him. But honestly its hard for him to get better.. 52 tests and so many ODI's should be enough for a bowler to find his feet in international cricket. He'll not get any better experience from domestic cricket or county than he has got with Indian team touring various countries. He is but a lost cause imo.

No track in the world would help a length ball in the death overs. No track would help a short and wide ball outside off stump in the powerplay overs. No track in the world would help a ball going down towards the sixth stump on the leg side. We need to look at the variety that one has when the track is not assisting his style of bowling. And with Ishant, he has just one way of bowling, come in hard, bowl a 130k length ball an get deposited in the stands. Its been this way since the last 3 years at least. He is not worthy of the India cap, he deserves to get out an make way for others, simple as that. And not to mention his aggression on field after getting whacked, when a batsman mistimes a shot and gets caught in the deep, priceless, I doubt if even Jim Laker would have celebrated that hard after getting the first ever 10 wicket haul. Sad days for Indian quickies trundlers.
