India slide down to No 5 in T20 - Should the BCCI allow Indian players to play domestic T20 comps?

Given the slide and demise of the Indian T20 side, should the BCCI allow their players to play in other T20 tournaments around the globe?

 

Surely there are only benefits from this - the ability for young players to play outside of the sub-continent, exposed to different conditions, gain knowledge from legends from other nations like Kallis, Gul, Afridi, Hogg, Ponting, McCullum etc. 

 

Exposing Indian players to these conditions will surely help improve the national T20 side and make them a more competitive team able to match it with higher ranked teams.  It's no surprise that Pakistan, NZ and the West Indies all allow their players to play all over the globe and they are consequently dominating T20

There is no need for Indian players to play outside. Just increase the lenghth of IPL and pick the right team. There is no fundamental problem with Indian T20. All is good.

Wouldn't you prefer your players to be exposed to different conditions and play alongside the world's best players from other nations?  Surely there are only benefits from this...

Technically there will be benefit and you are right about that. Financially it would be a disaster as Indians will start watching other leagues and IPL will not make money. The key for India is to maximize profits and keep all the money in India. We are very poor people with so few facilities that we can use the money.

I had not thought of it from that perspective - it seems bizarre that financial benefits supersede the success of the national team.

 

Also, would all Indian's watch other leagues?  Surely it wouldn't detract from the IPL, there is nothing stopping Indians from watching both.  If anything, like Indian broadcasters would pay rights to broadcast international games, which creates a ripple effect of television ads, sponsorship etc which is more money flowing through India.

It is always about finances, gone are the days people were amatures.

 

Already as you can see ICC and the Empire is looting India. Why should India pay for 80% of the money and only get fractional return. India as a nation has to find a way to keep the money.

 

I think T20 leagues will grow and that is where the future is. I am hoping for a day when IPL is 6 months long. I am tired of the crap called test cricket.

I think India should allow it's players to participate in other leagues around the world if schedule permits. But not so because India is no 5. LOL.

apparently pak league has lots of quality lol and Indian players could benefit from it...

 

benefit meaning accidental cover...death cover life insurance etc may be...we dont know for sure what they mean.
