Ankit_sharma03 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) 2019Wc is not far now. The WC wud be in england where we will travel with 5 seamers . Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami looks fixed as of now ............umesh can be said as the 4th one but he is not reliable and team mngmt doesnt have the same confidence in him any more. A strong team has strong options .......so who are our 4th and 5th seamer. Remeber england will have patta wkts . Going by our selectors- Kaul , unadkat, dhawal will always be on radar and i dnt even want to imagine them bowling on England pattas. We have been playing bhuvi n bumrah consistently and have not been exploring other option. Thakur has been given a chance and umesh is obvious one. To be honest there isnt much time left now and thakur n umesh cant be our best options unless we try a few to come to that conclusion Who ll be ur 4th and 5th seamer option for WC and backup incase of injuries . rkt.india Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Should try out Sangwan and Khejroliya as well along with Ankit Rajpoot and Nathu Singh once fit who also is good at yorkers. These four should be tried in the next year but they are wasting time on Unadkat and Kaul. speedheat 1
express bowling Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Thampi, Siraj , Khejroliya , Nathu and Porel have the potential to be wicket-taking pacers in ODIs .... and that is the type we need. Mosher and speedheat 1 1
speedheat Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Right arm phaaaaast=Thakur siraj thampi, rajpoot can be tried Left arm phaaaaast= khejroliya, sangwan can be tried. vishalvirsingh, Mosher and express bowling 3

Karthik is Dhoni's backup - the writing is on the wall. I would have loved to see Sanju Samson being groomed, but the problem is that he's a top 3 bat - like Shreyas Iyer, and doesn't fit the lower middle order role properly. Realistically, the only young keeper who has a shot for 2019 is Rishabh, if he gets back to his debut year form, and Dhoni starts fading even more than he is now. Selectors and Captain have made it clear that Dhoni will need to suck a lot more than he is right now, for him to get the axe. On the bowling front, there's a lot of rookie names being thrown around. But it would be nice if the BCCI scheduled a big 'A' tour to England, with a bunch of ODIs sometime in 2018. That is probably the best way for us to identify potential bench strength candidates.
