zen
It appears as if Ind has not built sufficient infrastructure to support pilgrims at many of these places. I m worried about trash disposal / waste management facilities as well. Govt should look in to that asap On the ban on chanting and ringing bells, what are the reasons for it? Is the noise inside and around the caves a cause for concern to the environment? I believe that a high percentage of ppl in Ind, irrespective of their backgrounds, are undisciplined and sport the chalta hai attitude. In general, to change behavior, we need to have more stricter punishments and fines for things such as not obeying traffic, littering, improper waste disposal, etc. For Ind to make its mark, self discipline is required Turning_track
zen
PS https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/846245 Respecting, protecting and caring for the environment is a big theme in Hinduism. On one hand, if we are visiting temples, and on the other hand, abusing the environment (see how dirty and polluted the area around many of the major temples is), the net sum is negative Remaining clean, hygenic, well groomed, well mannered, while respecting women and keeping the environment first is not that difficult. It is among the most basic teachings of life Edited December 13, 2017 by zen

Myth: Noise triggers avalanches.Fact: Most noise does not exert enough force. For noise to be the cause, it must be a tremendously loud noise like an explosive going off at close range. In almost all avalanche fatalities, the avalanche is triggered by the weight of the victim or someone in his party. http://www.mountaineersbooks.org/Assets/ClientPages/zz_AvalancheMyths.aspx
