Let this not be a one-off performance

We have had better overseas tours recently but it has been more like one off test wins. Reasons generally given are starting slow or some injury to someone in one of the tests. this time there are still 3 tests to be finished including this one so we have plenty of opportunity to sustain this better performance.

I am not that happy as everyone with our position this test. Definitely this is great but only if we maintain this level in the next test also and seriously believe and go for winning this series.

It's not gonna be a one off, however we need a bit of a luck to win in these extreme conditions. The stark contrast at Lords between English and Indian innings was like night and day. Unfortunately we can't come from behind, with the way batting is atm. Our modus operandi will be bowl out England cheaply, alternatively put up above par totals in the first innings. The catching however will have to be good, like this innings, otherwise it'll be come to India.

I’ve a different line of thinking and I hope I’m wrong, as I’ve been in past...

This sudden turnaround and England winning toss but fielding first on this pitch, Pandya getting fiver!, England slip fielders dropping catches... all this happening in the 3rd match of the series... similar things happened in the ODI series too to keep the Public interested in the series and allow the series to be decided in the last matches...

I know I’m wrong... but can’t help get the feeling...

reason ....simple...batting unit is far from  'being  brilliant'. Today the hack Pujara played some what ok.Similarly the openers though put 80 runs together is far from ok.I don't think Pujara,Dhawan,Vijay  & perhaps Rahul  are future options for 'top 6'.
