Banning stuff actually causes animals to be tortured and killed in secret. In fact the electrical stimuli in many plants have been shown to be more than many insects with non centralized nervous systems, yet all of the later have been considered to feel pain not the point but this line of argument is disingenuous. it is upto people what they want to eat but they don't need to rationalise it or take the higher ground.
