A company will never allow his employee to work for another company that works in the same field. There is a reason BCCI does not allow Indian players to play in foreign T20 leagues. Though IPL and team India both are BCCI entities, so, BCCI can dictate whether they would play or not. Individual Franchises do not fall under the purview of the BCCI. The IPL does. The franchises are separate business entities. BCCI cannot dictate anything on this matter. mishra and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment
putrevus
Other boards are now putting screws on fast bowlers because no team wants to risk their fast bowlers before a world cup.Kohli is 100 percent right in asking fast bowlers to be rested for IPL. Only weaker boards like NZ have no options as they are capable to compensate their bowlers for skipping IPL. Edited November 15, 2018 by putrevus UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
Kohli will have to show the way especially given his injuries playing in last couple of IPLs. Will the BCCI (or more importantly Star)allow this. Looks very unlikely. Other option is for BCCI to schedule 2 matches on most days (or 3 matches during each weekend) and finish the tournament in 6 weeks - starts from 23rd March and ends by say 6th May. That's a total of 60 matches in 42 days, in 2018 we had 60 matches in 51 days. Looks doable especially if its played in South Africa where travel time will be less and weather will not be very hot. This 6 week schedule will allow players to have a week long break, team could travel to UK by 15th-16th May, have a 4-5 day long conditioning camp somewhere in UK and play the warm up matches from 25th May . Helps that we do not our first match untill 5th of June, team would have got 3 weeks of acclimatization and practice. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
Stan AF
Best thing is to have only one set of matches (7) against every team. You do just home or away vs every team and not both. This IPL is going to be a disaster. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

You cant get away with it because it gives equal opportunity to each team to play against its home crowd UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
