What happened to our fielding/catching ?

Dropping catches every game this tour. Ground fielding is bad as well.

 

Not acclimatized maybe to the big arenas ?

When one doesn't hire a proper fielding coach, what else does one expect?

 

For being the wealthiest board in the world, the BCCI sure doesn't throw its money around like one would think it should. 

 

The BCCI should be able to even poach coaches from other international sides, like what happens in some American sports where small teams lose their coaches to bigger brands/teams

Fielding has improved from 90s but it has kind of stagnated after likes of Kaif, Yuvi, Dravid left by 2010s. Biggest let down (now for most teams) is slip fielding which was pretty good with VVS, Dravid, Sehwag and co. Now we have butter fingers and there is now incentive to be a great slip fielder as it is totally irrelevant for ODI and circus T20. No youngsters are standing in slip to begin with ....even close in catching is an art which no Indian fielder is really taking over

even close-in fielding to spin has suffered. someone like jennings is worth selection by eng partly because of his fielding.
