Vihari has occupied the crease, but thrown his away too many times after getting set. che is of course head and shoulders above the rest. zen 1 Link to comment
Cricketics
Australians have no clue. Reminds me of the time our bowlers did not have clue how to get Michael Clarke out in the 2011 series and it was boring and annoying to watch as an Indian fan. Aussie fans feeling the same. This is brilliant. Keep on batting Pujara. Tire the hell out of them. Mosher and ravishingravi 2 Link to comment
Vijy
Closest analogy that comes to my mind is Dravid's fine performance in 2003-04. However, although Dravid scored more runs (at least as of now) in that series, Che's performance is the better of the two in my opinion. Our batting was very strong back then - Sehwag, Dravid, SRT, Laxman, Ganguly all scored at least one big innings of note - and the Aus attack was lacking two of its major lynchpins, although it was still pretty good. Che's runs have come against a better attack while playing in a top 7 that carried at least 2-4 passengers in every match. Link to comment

Similar performance would be Gavaskar’s 750+ runs in WI in 1971 but that was a very ordinary WI attack. vanburn holder was mostly a defensive bowler (check his ER and SR). sobers was more of a batting all-rounder and noriega had 1 good innings. in contrast, every one in the Oz pace attack averages less (or equal to) 28, and Lyon's avg is pretty good for a spinner outside SC. Gavaskar made it strong this current lineup has carried lots of non-performing players too. And those pitches in early 70s were pretty flat in Windies. I am not dismissing Gavaskar's debut series - he was, and still is, the first WC batsman India produced. one of the greatest openers of all time, regardless of era Link to comment

mishra
Finally Pujara is being considered to be categorised in A+ group of BCCI grading. Kohli Rohit Bhuvi and Shikhar are part of it. No wonder Rohit and Dhawan play test matches just to maintain their A+ grade Link to comment
