Nikhil_cric
4 years ago. Starc maintained 147/8 average pace throughout a match! Definitely not as quick now thanks to age and injuries. Wood and archer comfortably the fastest duo playing right now. Link to comment

Multiple observations- He is left arm , when he is in rhythm ,he gets wickets almost at will. He is probably marginally quicker than our fast bowler bumrah. His Yorkers are the toughest. Overall I have tried to judge without being partial. All these bowlers are world beaters. Link to comment

Rightarmfast
@express bowling @Forward Defence Do you notice a decline in Bumrah's pace? I think he may intentionally be not putting 100%.. However, could it be a case of faulty speed guns in IPL? Link to comment

Bumrah bowls at 138- 142 most of the time and has the capability to bowl as quick as 148 149 if he wants. He wasn't in his usual rhythm against Pak. I don't buy into this faulty speed gun idea. Archer has recorded quicker speeds in the WC than he has in the IPL. Rabada on the other hand hasn't been that quick. Thomas and Russell have bowled quicker in the WC also. I think he may intentionally be not putting 100%.. However, could it be a case of faulty speed guns in IPL? Bumrah was mostly bowling 135 k to 150 k in the test series in Australia in 2018-19. With a fastest of 153 k. And he mostly bowled 137 k to 148 k in the test series against SA in 2018. He mostly bowled 132 k to 146 k in the test series against England in 2018. He was mostly bowling 138 k to 150 k in the IPL 2019. And is mostly bowling 135 k to 145 k in this WC with a fastest of 147 k. From this pattern, it seems that the IPL speed guns are ok. Either Bumrah bowls a tad slower in England as he tries to move the ball or feels that all out pace is not needed in conditions that aid movement ... or he is carrying some minor niggle. Bumrah bowled 153.3 k, 150.6 k and 150.2 k deliveries in the test series vs Australia Bowled 150.6 k in the IPL. So, he can bowl faster than 148 / 149. And seen 138 - 148 k spells with sufficient regularity in the last 8 months. Edited June 18, 2019 by express bowling Suhaan, Mosher and Rightarmfast 3 Link to comment
