Lets not forget this guy is playing a role of filler at the top wherever team needs him and he played a brilliant knock today with Rohit. We all knew he could bat at the top but to be start again at top and perform under pressure was brilliant.

 

Here’s to more runs for him. We do lose a good middle order player but opening a p’ahip is very important and hopefully he continues. Looked pretty good today with his shots and attacking play.

Him being in good form could take us all the way. Was obviously under pressure as he admitted and hence did not play his natural game but against better pace bowling teams like Eng and NZ, he can be a definite game changer. 

 

I do not see Dhawan playing any further part in the WC now (his thumb is in plaster), god sent opportunity for KL to repay the faith of team management. Same goes for Shami. Bhuvi, with his hammy gone, isn’t coming back miraculously. Shami, a much better attacking ODI bowler than Bhuvi, could not have asked for more.

It was great that he stuck around and played out the first 10 without losing his wicket - but felt he could have been a little quicker. If Rohit had not played as aggressively as he had yesterday - the scoreboard wouldn't have moved at all. Not the biggest fan of Rohit - but he is really turning it on this WC. Hats off to Rohit.

 

Rahul did well to stick around though. Hopefully cashes in against Afghanistan where he shouldn't feel any pressure.

KL absorbed the pressure after Pak chose to bowl first on a flat surface, thinking that India's top is soft...Would not mind a repeat of this performance against England too

He did, especially that first pull shot off Amir, sending a message to Pakistani we are ready. Got out softly, must be disappointed but expect him to turn it on.
