ShoonyaSifar Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 They will drop Chahal? For having one bad day! Amazing foresight. Keep changing and chopping, unless that 38 yr old good for nothing experienced player is booted out, this team will never realise its potential in LOIs. He’s the one who is holding this team through a complete stranglehold on the team management shamelessly running the team as he pleases despite not being captain for over 2 years now. All that matters to him and his PR mafia is to be in the limelight for every reason other than batting. OpeningBatsman 1
gooner Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Suddenly the team management and selectors are up from their slumber. They had two freaking years to get the combination right. Rohit Mayank Kohli Rahul Pant Pandya Dk Bhuvi Kuldeep Shami Bumrah Play the above team if it's a fresh wicket. This is where we miss players like yuvi and Raina who could roll their hands when needed. Nobody bowls in this team. If you want a extra bowling option drop Rahul. Swap Bhuvi/Shami/Rahul with Chahal or Jadeja if the wicket is a used one. Be ruthless no **** with playing the same 11 every freaking match. Be proactive. Ask the top order to go at a better rate, not gung ho but make sure you are 45 to 50 at the end of 10. Ask someone to play a decent anchoring role preferably Sharma since he can up the ante at the end overs without being a burden for the batsmen at the other end, and ask others to bat around him with quick 40s 50s. If that's the case I'd rather have India play Bhuvi instead of Kedar, and keep the 2 wristies. A few reasons. With the constant chop and change we forget how experienced Jadeja and Bhuvi are. They are battle hardened performers at international level. I love both Jadeja's and Bhuvi's attitude. Forever benched despite being one of the best bowlers / all-rounders in the world, Jadeja is always up for it. I would pick Shami, Bumrah, Kuldeep, Bhuvi and Pandya/Jadeja to share 5th bowler overs. Jadeja and Bhuvi lengthens the batting, improves the bowling, and of course the fielding.
Pandya_Power Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Somebody in the TM needs to grow a pair and drop MSD for DK. Its that simple. Egos and sentiments have to be brushed aside in Intl sports.

We need a compact player at no. 4 and Pant MAY be good for T20 and at slog overs but not for no. 4.. and he will struggle against good death over bowler as well.. I f'ing hate it that a team known for a batting power house does not have a good no. 4 already... KL Rahul was a back up opener and we made him no. 4 I hope they play Mayank Agarwal against Lanka so that he has one match to get things going and ready for Semis.. You have a complete lack of knowledge of ODI cricket. Go away and go back to school. Pant is the perfect hard striker you want towards the end of the innings. FFS he played his first WC game and did fairly well both on field and with the bat. He did better than Jedhav/Dhoni/Shankar in just one innings. The Indian team should be today Hitman Mayank Kohli DK Pandya Pant Dhoni, Jadeja/Kumar depending on wicket conditions Shami Kuldeep Bumrah

Jaddu is an honest trier, but his bowling and batting are too limited for ODIs which call for power/variety over subtlety. In Tests his accuracy and subtle variations (and home pitches) have contributed to him becoming a gun player. ODIs these days are more or less a graveyard for conventional finger spinners. Moving on to his batting, Jaddu scores at a good clip in Tests because of fielding restrictions and because he comes in at 8 or 9 with the license to tonk the ball around towards the end. He is not a power-hitter who can bat at 7 or 8 in ODIs and begin hitting after a few balls. I agree that Bhuvi should be in the squad, albeit more for his bowling in the opening and death overs.
Oldhere Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I feel we need bhuvi in place of a spinner which i feel should be kuldeep as he still isnt in full form. Reasons for bhuvi: - we are missing a death bowler as Shami isnt a death bowler - With Shami in middlevers, we have a wicket taker - Pitches in england seems to be slow which somehow doesnt support Kuldeep’s bowling

I hear all that. I still say my changes strengthen the team for the short term challenges ahead.

Rishabh Pant will not be around for next world cup.. the guy can't run for his life.. Doing better than those three is not I am looking for in ODI batter.. he is a leg side hack and nothing more.. Play him against quality bowler and he'll be walking wicket.. He needs to get fitter first before anything.. Pandya_Power 1
