Will consider Rohit Sharma as Test opener: MSK Prasad

He rarely opens in first class games....in the recent A tour of WI he batted at 3/4 in 3 tests. his 204* came at no 4.
In ODI he can play anywhere in top 4.

I think they want to try Rohit for one last time before they settle for Gill. It is a mistake but after seeing Rahul getting so many chances, you cannot say Rohit will be worse than him.

They cant stick to any decison be it right or wrong which is why no.4 never got solved. The only position that are settled under them were settled during dhoni ......or settled by accident 

as I earlier said, the only way to  have any effect on these oppertunistic  morons is for fans to flock into their social media  accounts and make them aware of their pucca contradictory  & oppertunistic statements like these there by criticizing them   so severely even to the extends of foul mouthing.

That is the only way to have any impacts on these   greedy parasites. Otherwise they will keep on doing these  because for them it is a monstrous money spinning business at the expense of the emotions , time etc etc of crores of hard core fans across the nation. After all what good to expect from the  ultimate parasite coach  who stated playing t20s in advance  would serve as practice matches for such a high profile test series  ?

If Rohit wanted to play as an opener and TM wanted him to play in the team why the heck they kept on giving Rahul so many chances.Rahul was a gone case long long time back.That bloody fluky Oval century screwed Indian team too.

 

I don't think TM has any confidence in him as an opener but all these bozos (former players) fighting for his cause has forced their hand.TM  if they wanted to Rohit to be an opener they would have dropped Rahul in WI .

 

What is this former player singing praises of Sehwag as an opener. Sehwag was failure in SA, ENG, NZ.He tasted some success in Australia.Sehwag was the best in subcontinent and was ok in WI .But in SENA countries he was not good.Rohit will be the same.

 

Murali Vijay was a flop in SENA countries for most part too.

No one is gone in such young age........every player has gone through this n come out . Rahane just saw a lull of 3 yrs

Better question is why didnt these kohli n shastri sacrifice vihari for opening in Aus....it cud have ended his career

Thats why they are horrible when it comes to handling youngsters .....every series their plan changes.....

Talent needs patience ......which is why most youngsters dont go anywere under them

How was sehwag a failure in SENA

He has a 100 in SA , ENG, 2 in Aus, 

He was inconsistent but not a failure......its hard for most subcontinent batsman to be consistent abroad as they go after 4 years n generally in that phase form fluctuates . 

 

Dravid doesnt have a gr8 Record in SA, SL even in Aus avg is 41 which is decent 

Laxman was only consistent in Aus 

Ganguly only consistent in ENG

Pujara hasnt been consistent overseas

Rahane has been consistently inconsistent 

 

Only tendulkar , kohli have been consistent overseas for years in most countries 

 

Expectation dekho- sab tendulkar, kohli , gavaskar nhin ho sakte

 

N no Rohit cant be same as sehwag.....sehwag on debut scored a 100 in SA.....Rohit collectively wont have 100 runs in SA in 2 tours

Shows how diff it has been for indian openers for overseas when sehwag n vijay who can be said as 2nd or 3rd best opners overseas have been this consistent.

TM are fine in handling players, Rahul was never that good, it was bloody flukey innings.Rahul got so many chances what did he do with them nothing.Once he got IPL taste he was totally lost cause.

 

Fab4 were not that great as they are made out to be.Vijay was another  guy who other than taking shine off rarely was a winning player.

 

Gone are the days when Indian players were not expected to deliver overseas. They have to deliver overseas now to be in the team.We need winning players who can deliver when chips are down.

 

Thats why I wanted guy like Gill to be opener for home season.So he could be ready for NZ series.
