really wish Mavi would go back to his peak, which seems implausible. he's still young and doing well in FC - if only he can up his pace

He seems to have lost the pace since his U-19 days and now there are many bowler bowling at same pace with more skills, same with Nagarkoti.

Both are now not looked as as Ind. Intl prospects any more, their initial U-19 success kept them upfloat at Ipls, but still they are not able to cement their places in their respective sides.

They still have time on their side and should start working on bringing their pace-up and may be work on batting, they need to show some improvements to be selected into A-Sides first.

Even though this thread us about upcoming pacers, its should rather be a conduit to track their overall ability say, even if they have some batting ability or if they are livewire on the field

Here is our boy Umran, wielding his willow, appreciate him encourage him to build on some "playing cameos" ability

Umran Malik batted quite decently in his last Ranji match. Stuck around for a long time with a senior batsman and hit the 2 sixes you have posted.

Hopefully others also take a leaf out of this book, Ind needs bowler who can contribute with bat and batters who can bowl.

A little bit of batting from no.8-11 and little bit of bowling from no.1-5 will be a force force multiplier

In India, this is being interpreted as playing bits snd pieces cricketers in place of strike bowlers.

And that's a concern.

No10 and 11 can be genuine pacers,if they have some ability with the bat or great in fielding that is a huge plus

8,9 seriously should be having some ability to bat and hit big consistently as that is where cricket is heading with bowling as their primary forte, not like fake ones which we have as Harshal,Boobie,Chahar etc(none of them are consistent with either of the skills)

The way out is to find genuine pacers who can bat somewhat.  And make the proper pacers practice batting.

We saw how Bumrah snd Shami batted in England. Both have improved their batting a lot.  Umesh has improved too.

Umran definitely has some batting ability but needs practice. Tyagi isn't bad. Mohsin quite good. Saini is quite decent.

All these guys can be good 9s and 10s.

We need Hangargekar or Arjun Tendulkar or Raj Bawa to take the No.8 spot outside Asia and remove these Chahars snd Thakurs and Unadkats and Harshals.

Raj Bawa seems a genuine AR prospect,i think he has the ability to bat at top5 and to be top3/4 pacer(depending on his workload)

He needs to be monitored and groomed very carefully

he already seems prone to injury. I don't see him much in domestics
