Tourist net statistics are also misleading especially for europe. In the same distance from mumbai to delhi a German can travel to france. So even likes of spain france italy get bulk of these backpacker student types. Its more like indian/chinese internal tourism. India needs to focus on getting families. This involves more beach resorts along out coasts. The cultural tourist is a small fraction of the sun seeker/ beach tourist. Lets have pristine beaches. Re china, their stats too are padded due to visits from say hong kong /macau to the mainland cities of Shenzhen. Its also known that the masses will travel locally. Maybe we need to target high income countries like Japan etc with low cost travel infra

There's this temple with intertwining chain links made from a single stone.I am not able to find that picture but early indian sculpture and art was pretty advanced.I know that the Renaissance art is very famous but indian temples were amazing velu 1

In my opinion, nothing compares in terms of precision, intricacy and diversity. And I haven't even seen 5%, maybe even that is an over-estimate. Belur and Halebeedu temples, Brihadeeshwara temple in Thanjavur, Madurai Meenakshi temple with the musical pillars - just these few beauties surpass anything the rest of the world has to offer.
