Ever since Rohit started opening the innings no opener touched the average 50. Second best is 47. He is 58. This is a 9 ear stretch. So in his era he is the dominator as opener. In Tendulkar's era he was the dominating opener for long period. Tendulkar's last few years coincided with Rohit's first few years. Both of them were poor.

You do not and on top of that you are trying to debate on it just beauce this is a forum. Again, only novices go mainly by career averages as people understand that for e.g. if you play against BD and on good batting surface more, your avg would be higher. The point here is your claiming that the avg. of 58 is what we should only look into. When asked that if the avg is so meaningful, compare it with other greats, you gave excuses as discussed while claiming that Rohit would be THE DEFAULT CHOICE. First, you do not understand data but try to debate on it. You claim something proudly but try to not stand behind it. Now if the exercise is about feeling good about yourself and all this is just a way to make yourself feel that you competed in a discussion (and can get away by hook or crook), then be my guest. But don't come "Rohit Rohit" if you can't start "the thread" in this time period. Edited February 13, 2020 by zen
Norman Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Lol OP back at it again. Credit where it's due. If nitpicking stats to push your agenda is an art, OP's the Picasso of it. sarcastic and zen 2

What are you going to do with this data? Drop Rohit whenever these guys play? Let us apply to everyone. Whenever Pakistan picks Junaid khan in their side let us drop Kohli because he averages 9 in 6 matches whenever Junaid is part of Pakistan side.

Don't overestimate yourself .... And I have neither said a player is good nor bad in the OP. It has been thought to be implied by certain fanboys like yourself (maybe insecurities popping up) .... One of them is even on my block list so I can only see once someone quotes the post Quote What are you going to do with this data? Drop Rohit whenever these guys play? Let us apply to everyone. If you don't, the thread is not for you. There is no point in trying different things to see what the data means this or that. By writing the above, you are only showing what I posted earlier, you are clueless! Thank you! Edited February 13, 2020 by zen

You don't pick team to handle one bowler per team lol Besides some of these bowlers go the distance on flat pitches against even average players. None of these bowlers are out of the world unhittable bowlers. Unless we are talking about all these bowlers playing on a pitch that is moving like banana this state means nothing. in such conditions entire Indian batting will be exposed. There is no bowler unhittable in modern cricket.

zen Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Vs. SENA teams, Dhoni has done relatively well in SFs. Dhawan decently In 2015 (did not play in 2019). Kohli and Rohit need to step up.
zen Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Talking about the upcoming T20WC in Aus, likely group standing as for now: Grp A 1. Aus (home) 2. NZ/WI Threat to 1 & 2: Pak, SL (likely to be in Grp A) Grp B 1. Eng (preparations have already begun) 2. Ind/SA Threat to 1 & 2: AFG(? Most probably in this Grp), BD (likely to be in Grp B) So SENA teams would pose major challenges both in Grp games (Eng and SA) and SF (if playing Aus or NZ). Have to clear these challenges before thinking about F .... And then there is WI too Edited February 13, 2020 by zen
