Can you imagine him facing the likes of Hadlee and Bond at their primes? Manhoods would've been destroyed. Also shows how good the likes of Sachin, Dravid, Gavaskar, Azhar really were. Stan AF 1
Stan AF Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Tendulkar Sehwag (Picking over Rohit) Kohli Dravid [ I need middle order stability] Yuvi Dhoni Kapil Kuldeep/Chahal Srinath (Picking him ahead of Shami) Zak Bumrah

Bad patch can happen to any batsman. Doesn't mean he can't handle Jamieson and CDG. The same guy scored runs in England against better bowlers and in much more tricky conditions. Guy has 70 international hundreds by playing best bowlers around the world. Has 100s against likes of Steyn, Starc, Anderson, Hazlewood, Johnson, Morkel, Broad, etc

Though he bats at #3, Kohli is more like a #4 in those conditions/situations. One of the reasons we struggle in KO games unless playing an Asian team and/or in Asia is that we can run into good inform bowlers who can expose these batsmen. In 2003 WC, we were lucky enough to play Kenya or could have departed in the semis there as well. Edited April 16, 2020 by zen Sandeep99 1

He may well score 30-40 hundreds more but unless he scores in crucial knockouts his records will remain tainted. Can’t forgive for his dismissals in 2015, 17, 19 tournaments.

We defeated Australia in quarters, in form Pakistan in semis in 2011. We defeated a strong West Indies in the final, England in semis in 1983. Some pretty good wins. India is not winning any such games in the next 8 years or so. zen 1

We are talking about Indian- NZ bilateral series or match here, not WC. In big tournaments, NZ has always been our bogey team irrespective of who plays for India.

He may score 70 more hundreds against kesari williams but unless he scores in crucial matches, those will remain useless. Edited April 17, 2020 by Sandeep99

The bottom line is the so called lord lolli also bottled against our bogey team in 2019 wc where we could have easily won.

N how is scoring in CT final n 2011 final, 2014 t20 Wc final, 2016 t20 Wc semi final ......called utterly flop 30 minutes ago, Sandeep99 said: The bottom line is the so called lord lolli also bottled against our bogey team in 2019 wc where we could have easily won. n how cud we have won easily.....it wasnt easy the ball was moving n 250 was turning out to be a winning total in that latter half. Every player wont work every day or tick every box, ull find some problem with everyone. Didnt tendulkar fail in 2003 n 2011 final
Stan AF Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 The 2014 wc final knock was kind of a slow one bro. Malinga tamed him very well. And please let's not bring t20 in here.
