rkt.india Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 You don't need speed guns to know whether a bowler is fast or not. Guns just provide a number which can always have inconsistencies. You also don't need a speed guns to say that McGrath had slowed down early 2000s onwards abd was a 140 kph bowler before that. Second article is full of rhetorics, saying Copeland who bowls at 120 kph should play for Australia. First article is very much right but these days, they use high speed Hawkeye and virtual eye cameras to measure speeds along with speed guns which are Highly accurate and rectify any speed gun errors. I know you dislike pace bowlers and teams to play trundlers. I think if you got to select the team you will play Vinay Kumar instead of Bumrah, Srinath Aravind instead of Shami because according to you their speed gun reading are wrong and they aren't bowling at 140 but 120 so Vinay and Aravind who bowl at 125-130 are faster. rkt.india Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 You keep holding on to McGrath giving his example who isn't termed as a trundler.

On the contrary its you and your ilk here who are blind speed gun worshippers, care only and only about speed gun readings and not talent or any skills The biggest proof I have of you people's bias is when Bhuvi was misdiagnosed by NCA and it resulted in his injury for so long, not a sinlge one of you speed gun worshippers even commented or said a word. Imagine this scenario, the pace academy which is supposed to nurture young bowlers made such a mistake but not a word of the so called pace worshippers because Bhuvi ddint tickle your speed gun fancy I have seen you post about and share videos of the worst domestic bowlers just because they showed some speed gun readings Getting our asses handed to us in NZ because our bowlers couldnt swing wasnt a lesson of course. From England to South Africa our series victories and draws were because of swing bowlers but hey only Australia counts right, no other country does? Every single strong team has a top test swing bowler who leads the pack and supports the pacer but india only wants speed guns and the biggest reason why we lost in NZ Edited April 20, 2020 by New guy GoldenSun and maniac 1 1

Every single strong team has a top test swing bowler who leads the pack and supports the pacer but india only wants speed guns and the biggest reason why we lost in NZ What are you talking abour? BK was missed in England and most talked about his and Bumrah's absence hurting our chances. Regarding NCA, it's known for messing up things, not the first time. Same thing had happened with Aaron in 2012 where he had to stay out of cricket for one and a half years due to their incompetence of not giving right diagnosis and advice. Everyone knows how important BK was for England tour. Yes, I prefer pace because it's an x-factor but I never overlook what qualifies different bowlers bring to the table. Also, every pace bowler needs skills whether medium pace or fast. It's only you who thinks we only talk about pace, moving the ball is as important and we look for bowlers who can do that at pace or can get bounce at decent pace because such bowlers become Match winners and greats of the game. There are three main aspects to fast bowling and accuracy is one thing that goes with every one of those aspects. First is high pace. Second is good bounce with medium-fast medium pace, third is swing. If a bowler can combine all three aspects, he becomes great. Edited April 20, 2020 by rkt.india Suhaan and Mosher 2

Suhaan Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) Bhuvi when swung the ball ,no one had any problem with him,i dont remember anyone who had problem with his bowling during that time,he came back in 2015 bowled exceptionally well won us a game iirc against SA at home in an odi, then came the Kolkata test against NZ where he blew the visitors with his swind which he combined with pace,he used to bowl at high 130s reaching 145 sometimes, even in 2012-13 he swung with reasonable pace no body had problem seeing him bowl, reason is he was consistently picking wickets Thing is he has been blunt with the ball for quite sometime now, even our current pace spearhead Bumrah looked blunt in NZ after coming back from injury and had to face wrath,so no one gets spared here People often forget Umesh,Varun even Ishant(before) were blasted for their inconsistent bowling despite being fast, pace gets the viewers excited but not for long, bowlers need to use it cleverly and end results do matter here, and here it is picking wickets,Bhuvi was not doing it either lately ,hence was criticised Edited April 20, 2020 by Suhaan maniac 1

Bowl medium pace and get phainty with less muscle soreness vs bowling your heart out and get phainty with muscle soreness. Only bowlers who bowl their heart out become good or greats. You can't become a good bowler by not bowling at least over 85% plus effort. You think likes of McGrath, Philander bowled medium pace by choice? No. McGrath always tried to bowl as fast as he could. He always put huge effort in his bowling but he wasn't blessed with those fibers to generate extreme pace but still enough pace to use with his height and bounce. Always putting 90% plus, no one can bowl 100% all the time. Our body does not understand, realise, respond well, or remember efforts below 85%. So if your efforts are below that number, you won't get great results. Only great efforts bring great results, just need to execute that effort well in practice. If a bowler tries to learn some new tricks, he will have to put an effort as high as he can, only then he will be able to learn and execute it. Our body doesn't remember or respond to any half hearted efforts because bowling is driven by CNS and muscle memory and CNS stimulation happens by putting intense efforts. A bowler who tries to bowl 60-70% of his efforts will struggle to get his muscle memory going, won't get his bowling action right and then won't get his bowling right. Also fast bowlers who bowl 145-150 don't bowl fast because they are putting 100% but because they are blessed with fast twitch fibers. Some aren't blessed and their max effort result in 135 kph. One more thing, people talk about don't bowl fast, bowl accuracy. Accuracy is as much neuro driven as bowling fast. Extreme accuracy is as much an exception aa extreme pace and anyone bowling slow doesn't mean he is accurate but you still need certain amount of pace if you are extremely accurate and certain amount of accuracy if you are extremely quick. Slow isn't directly proportionate to accuracy. The most important thing is to understand the personality of a bowler. It's called neuro-typing. These neuro types make a personality, what kind of person one is, what kinda sportsman, cricketer, bowler or batsman one will become. It's not completely in our control. It is driven by different amount of chemicals secreted by our brains. Those chemicals decide what kind of a bowler you are going to be. This is the biggest reason you can't ask a Brett Lee to bowl like McGrath or McGrath to bowl like Brett Lee because both have different bodies and personality. Different dominance type. Same, you can't ask a Dravid to bat like Sehwag or Sehwag to bat like Dravid. Their games are shaped by their personality driven by the neuro-types. We don’t need 2 Bhuvi’s or 2 Yadavs but what we need is 1 of each. Suhaan 1
