His strike rate is not convincing rather than his ODI average. I guess at above 80 wasn't a big ask even then. He also lacked the game to pick up the scoring rate or launch an attack like Sehwag, Sachin,Yuvi,Raina,Dhoni. His running between wickets too wasn't good. 

 

But as keeper batsman he helped in some aspects like balancing team or playing extra batsman or bowler. 

 

As a ODI player, I personally never liked the way he played that format.

Statsguru didn’t have SR stats, but you can look it or read elsewhere. He didn’t keep his place because of wicket keeping. He is an underrated ODI player, people remember only the first 2 years when he was dropped. He played 3 years as a batsman before agreeing to keep

The gift that keeps giving. How can 35/78 be anything but good in this era? Even Rayudu with 47/79 didn't play a single WC unlike Rahane.
