DMK maintains it but on a low level. Even decent Telugu people who have lived for the past century in Chennai dont like them and I'm willing to wager that any regular telugu people in Andhra and Telengana don't like them either. See if this movement in Kannada is started by the same rascals. Find out, expose them and nip it in the bud. TN was almost gone but the religious community found it detestable and we have a watered down version in ADMK. Appeal to the traditional, religious and conservative people and tell them that most people in TN are also fed up with it. This has nothing to do with Hindi although northie bhaiyya log are also part of the problem. But the last sentence, I disagree. Reddy is telugu. Reddiar is just a tamilized version of Reddy. Naicker have mysterious origins. In Marathi, its Naik (as in Zakir Naik ). In Telugu, its Naidu. In Tamil, its Naicker. Really don't know their origins. In Sri Lanka also, there are name that ends with Nayake. Gowdas (volkaligas) are from Karnataka. Siddaramaiah exCM of Kar is from Kuruba community. You will find them spread across the region and have also migrated to TN. Gounders are not Gowdas, but Kurubas are from Karnataka.
