First of all, you should stop calling others who are pro-farm bills are BJP supporters, Modi bhakts etc. All the opposition in this thread and out there on the SM, is about Oligarchy, Adani/Ambani fears and not reading anything on the bill and the history of reforms. Reforms suggested by the same parties are opposing it now, you doubt their honesty. For these people nothing good has happened in last 6 years, no objective analysis. If you call me a bhakt for acknowleging some of the work, so be it.  Regarding Aadhar, it is helpful in cracking illegal migration of BDs, Rohingyas, even though some of them slip through the ranks. it will act as a detterrent. But a nuisance in general, earlier we used to get SIM cards in India, now it is difficult to get even with proper OCI ID. I don't know much about privacy concerns. don't we give our Identity to get SSN, finger prints during immigration. The liberals who do this gleefully, opposing Aadhar on privacy concerns in hyporcritical.

You tell me where I called anyone anything. Stop making stuff up.

Regarding aadhar, that did jack shitq in curbing BDs, rohingyas. only our privcay has been compromised. I don't need to tell you how it is. that will be a whole another discussion. Lets not go there. I was shocked when it was made compulsory and is now obsolete because if you have to open a bank ac, you still need other details in addition to aadhar. Giving finger prints is a privacy concern no matter which country does it. So basically you are saying is aadhar helps crackdown of illegal immigration but why did BJP oppose when it was in the opposition citing privacy concerns. no matter how you swing it, this has to be addressed. Either way BJP is at fault. khangress is a failure no need to even go there.

If aadhar is a privacy concern, BJP in opposition is right and BJP right now is wrong in messing up our privacy

If aadhar is not a privacy issue and useful in curbing illegals, BJP in opp was wrong and sabotaged the khangress rule which was right in curbing illegals. There is no escaping this my friend

Isn't that the whole point? Where is the duo-diligence? There is enough checks and balances in the bills. Next,  BJP is the first government to given assurances on MSP and in big numbers.  Even then, if there are still issues, then raise those particular clauses.

But, this mob wants zero discussion, and only hellbent on remove all bills. Tomorrow, they might use this hostage tactic to overthrow the elected government. That is no legitimate nor democratic way to work.

One of the bills is to counter the monopoly of middleman, and that's a good thing.

They are demanding new bills with their participation. If you are misinformed rest are not.  You think all the farmer community is fool and only modiji is enlightened like you.

What ails Indian agriculture?

https://indianexpress.com/article/opinion/columns/agricultural-reforms-farm-laws-farmers-protest-msp-7134233/

India needs low-input, high-output agriculture. This cannot be achieved without science and technology.  However, the biggest impediment to agricultural R&D has been overzealous opposition to the new technologies from ideologues of the left and right.

The current debates are mainly on minimum support price, reducing farmers’ debt liabilities, reducing post-harvest losses, cash transfers to keep farming viable for the smallholders, and marketing reforms. Very little attention is being given to reducing the natural resource inputs — most critical being water —and agricultural R&D. India and many other parts of the world with entrenched poverty require low-input, high-output agriculture; low input in terms of both natural resources and monetary inputs. This cannot be achieved without science and technology.

Astounding developments in molecular biology in the early second half of the 20th century and their translation into recombinant DNA technologies since the 1970s have brought forth unprecedented opportunities for genetic improvement of crops. Since 2000, genomes of all the major crops have been sequenced. More recently, primary germplasm and the wild relatives of the major crops have also been sequenced. The big challenge is in the effective utilisation of the enormous sequence data that is available. India’s efforts in all three areas are half-hearted. There is currently a virtual paralysis on the use of genetic engineering and gene editing technologies.

Investments in R&D in general are low. Over the last 20 years, India has been spending between 0.7 to 0.8 per cent of its GDP on R&D, way below the percentage of GDP spent by the developing countries and Asia’s rapidly growing economies. There are structural issues like lack of competent human resources and lack of policy clarity. However, the biggest impediment to agricultural R&D has been overzealous opposition to the new technologies from ideologues of the left and right.

That is why they are negotiating what amendments are needed? Repealing is out of q as a silent majority is pro

rose-tinted glasses eh? Nice deflection from discussion of farm bills. Open a thread for Aadhar card. It was also used for Jan Dhan , Kisan Bima and PDS programs with digital transactions. Kuch to farak mila.

Believe as much as you like in godi media. There are very few supporters of the bill. Still our protesting farmers are democratic enough to include every concerned party unlike the ambani ran goverment.

This is spot-on.  Farmers in most other states are going to benefit even with no modifications.  That doesn't mean P/H farmers should be asked to simply suck it up, but repealing and starting over is not the way/

Thats their selling point isnt it "assurance". They said aadhar will be a privacy issue when in opposition but when they came to power, they made aadhar mandatory. Apparently some people are not buying their "assurances" which are most likely to be not honored in the future.

so what if I said rose tinted glasses. I didn't call you a bhakt or whatever. you said it not me. Stop putting words into my mouth. rose tinted glasses is a phrase not related to any party. it basically says you are viewing from a certain point of view and asking you to view it from a wider angle. you know it but you are feigning ignorance to it. aadhar card is an example of how govts say one thing and do the exact opposite when they come to power. you cant answer my point about the hypocrisy you are just dancing around it

It's not a properly functioning democracy.....Uneducated PM & his gang of thugs are making a mockery of World's largest Democracy. No wonder that haramkhor Modi was banned from entering USA for so many years....shame!!

come on man. there is no need to use such language. there is a way to constructively debate. callign names only makes things worse and gives opponents the high ground that makes them dismiss valid concerns

Then have an MSP debate, where does the 3 farm bills come which has nothing to do with it. And assurance works both ways, will those unruly protestors honor to their demands and be peaceful? Till date, , they won't do any discussion nor tell their clause by clause issues. Instead have constantly threatened the government and the comman man.

MSP if legislated, comes with its own different issues from a range of inflation, to inefficient market regulations.  Long term, the best thing would be to end all subsidies and instead just directly cash out to those needy people...

Congress had already made it mandatory, BJP reformed it , esp for rural sectors. I oppose banks and telecom sector using it, very inconvenient.

Some explanation of BJP flip flop on Aadhar, excerpts from a book

Quote

Elaborating on his party’s earlier opposition, Modi says, ‘Our problem was not with the idea of Aadhaar, but with the inadequacies of Aadhaar. We have never opposed anything for the sake of opposition. I do not believe in that kind of politics. The UPA government had a problem of imagination and an even bigger problem of implementation. I knew Aadhaar had potential. For years they ran Aadhaar, but it still didn’t have any parliamentary backing, nor integration with public service delivery.’

Explaining how his government took it forward, the Prime Minister adds, ‘We took a decision to separate the security issues that were raised by home ministry from the issue of Direct Benefit Transfer. We created a committee to look into the legal and technology issues, and we fixed it. We expanded the scope of Aadhaar, amplified the scale and augmented the speed. In a short span of time, the country has already saved about Rs 50,000 crores due to Aadhaar-based systems.’

So BJP opposed it (the right thing to do) but once in power, they made everyone get an aadhar. This wasn't in 2014 but in 2017. You need to look bigger as in world politics to see this is a global issue. Politicians are just toys for the international bankers. I would not buy the aadhar is necessary to counter the BD illegals theory. you could just put the BSF on the bangla border and not allow them in the first place. As the BJP spokesperson rightly said its a fraud perpetrated on the people. all your fingerprints are all over the place. I get text messages almost daily to give my aadhar to win a prize. I might as well try contacting that rich Nigerian businessman who wants my money

Agree, these bills just provide new opportunities, how they transform to more income depends on how it is implemented, regulated and government intervention to prevent private monopoly. These bills suggest some measure empowering farmers in areas of litigation, collective bargaining. It needs a ton of GO and NGOs to help out farmers. It is here there is a need of intervention and not in breaking law and order and close down roads and bring down celltowers

If one deliberates on this guiding principle, one realises that the government cannot launch measures which tackle different dimensions of the agrarian crisis in isolation from each other. By launching the agricultural market bills in isolation from solutions to tackle the monsoon dependence of agriculture and lack of adequate institutional credit, the government has short-changed the ability of the small and marginal farmer to leverage the opportunities for gain made available by these laws. Hence, a multi-pronged approach suggested above to support these laws becomes imperative. Otherwise, the onus of ensuring that the benefits from these laws reach the small and marginal farmers depends upon the private players who generally do not have much incentive to do so, at least in the conventional sense

So no objective thinking needed when you are convinced of the march towards total slavery. MSM was convinced of this march since 2002, is still playing the same game. We need better intellect to defeat Modiism. No secondary ranks in BJP to counter his leadership.

He is a perpetual election machine. There are many intellects who can't even win their HOA elections.

What is objective thinking according to you? And how do you determine if something is objective
