Absolutely. The unfettered leeway given to Kohli by BCCI as captain went to his head. The rot had begun around late 2018 when the coach and captain almost assumed WC was theirs. Then the Aus test series win made them super arrogant. That reflected in the WC team selection. But unfortunately since then it has been all downhill.

 

The cookie had to crumble someday. NZ tour was a moment of reckoning but the arrogant captain-coach duo brushed aside the ODI and Test whitewashes. They will have nowhere to hide after the upcoming humiliations on this tour. Will perhaps blame Rohit and a couple of youngsters like the Kohli PR has been doing in ICF and else where on social media.

Kohli seems to give more importance to his personal goals than what happens to Indian Cricket. The selectors should sack him as captain and get rid of his captaincy as he clearly lacks the team performances and team development aspects right after this tour.
