Should India feature in the WTC final at Lord's ​​​​​​​​​​​​​

It's almost certain that NZ will whitewash all their remining opponents at home now, with the scenario Cricinfo highlighted we're unlikely to now make it to the finals barring a washout or two. Regardless of the final outcome does India actually deserve to play at Lord's with out horrible overseas record, which seems to have gone from bad to worse under Brat 

 

Statistically we've played some of the worst test sides Oz, SA & a lot of other teams have fielded yet we're on the brink of a near repeat of the Dhongi saga, the next few years could be brutal unless we start getting test quality players asap & established before the likes of Pujara, Rahane along with Shami, Ashwin retire!

How good is newzealand's and australia's away record?

Aussies weren’t able to win against bangladesh, were slapped by Srilanka 3-0.

Newzealands performance in aus was humiliating.
All big teams are HTB .

 

Secondly the only reason newzealand is on the verge of qualifying is that they got the easiest path to the finals, the only tough series they played they were whitewashed .

We totally deserve to play in the finals, no doubt about it.

Regardless of the final result, india will be way more competitive against australia than newzealand. Infact test fans should want India/England to qualify solely to give tough fight to Aussies and make the final exciting contest

Home - India, Pakistan, West Indies

Away - Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh

 

They payed only two teams that are ranked in the top5 of the Test rankings and still lost to a pathetic SL team which was whitewashed 3-0 by a mediocre Poms side an year before. Had they payed Ban in Ban, they would have surely lost atleast one test again on those square turners. Got absolutely thrashed in the only tough series they played. 

 

Now tell me..... How do they deserve that final spot more than us? Yes.... if we get beaten by England at home, then fair enough thay absoutely do deserve it. But if that doesn't happen (most likely) and even if we compete slightly better than them in Australia, we are the deserved finalists.

I never said NZ deserve it, but they'll probably make it because of the way the WTC is structured. It was always flawed with the kind of lopsided advantage (strong) home teams get especially with just 2 test series. But you can't really ignore the meltdown India had with Kohli at the helm, a whitewash in NZ should & could have been avoided had we done better planning & possibly better prep.

NZ very lucky with the fixtures, they wouldn't have won against full strength BD (return of Shakib) in BD considering their past record there. We shouldn't have gifted them 120 pts though , those 2 tests were such unforgettable disasters
