R!TTER Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Don't judge performance based just on a few LO games, though it is a good metric longer term if we want him down in the middle order. We've seen him do extremely well against Lyon & Co on square turners in the 2017 teste series vs Oz so it's not like he's bad against spin. He needs more percentage shots against such bowlers, especially tweakers like Maxi & Co.
putrevus Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Rahul like Pandya gets too much publicity for doing very little. He is awful against spinners.

Straight Drive Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Still not got over his weakness but he seems to get better against spinners by trying to slow up strike rate when spinners bowl middle overs and avoid gettign out against spinners. Hasn't been successful yet but hopefully he will improve if he continues to play cautiously against them.

In tests u can defend but in loi u have to hit spinners.. only ganguly in last 30 years was the player who could defend as well as attack spinners when needed in both forms. Kohli dhoni rohit all mugs against spin in lois. Even Tendulkar in later years became bad against spin and ajmal owned him. Only Laxman was near ganguly in terms of playing spin across formats. velu, putrevus and Banton 1 2
