Hope @Stan AFand @ash share your sentiment that most people vote for the DMK only when they are opposed to something rather than actually voting for them cause they believe in the DMK. Paints a rather sad picture really. I certainly agree that the DMK are a negative party. There is probably good reason since the formation of the AIADMK, DMK have never retained power. I certainly hope the likes of Durai Murugan does not get a big ministry. But I suspect he will. I also hope H Raja will be further side-lined within the BJP. This is his last election from what I know even if he gets elected. His type of statements are not welcome.

If Stalin wins this time, he will surely rule for the next 10 years unless something drastic happens. DMK always had a core vote base right from the start, people have always believed in DMK It is ADMK which is the "other" anti DMK party. Many votes that ADMK gets are actually anti DMK votes, this is right from MGR's period.

How does this indicate Core base? Vote share is different from voter base, have to understand the subtle difference. Point is ADMK is used to getting bulk of Anti DMK votes, even many here would have voted for ADMK just because they don't want DMK to win. The reverse does not happen much.
