The truth is that replacements have not been stellar.

 

Vihari was seen as replacing Rahane but i would say despite the rearguard I would pick Rahane. Kl rahul is made of glass and averages 33 with the bat.

 

Gill needs a few solid years opening before drifting into the middle order.

 

We need to accept that while this is a golden time for our bowling the batting is not producing big hitters.

Too much of a criticism for Rahane and Pujara. I think Rahane has led a depleted team quite well while Pujara has not done any different to what he has been doing, just that he couldnt convert the starts to big scores.These things happens in International cricket, and we should let them be.
It was needless criticism that led to the exits of players like Laxman etc who could have played for a year more atleast.

We have to be patient with them, lets not throw the bath water out with the baby

Yeah there is no one to replace Rahane the Bradman who averages less than 40 in India.

If go onto lose the series then can't blame the rookie bowlers, the batting has been crap all tour and the so called seniors like Rahane & Pujara are fully to blame.

 

Give zero confidence when at the crease and barely score any runs.

 

Post-tour some deadwood needs clearing.
