You're zooming out whilst remembering 2001 but zooming in for 2021, understandable but flawed. But we were severely weakened and lost 9 of our first team players by the time we came to Brisbane.. Why should that not be taken into the equation? That 2001 side was obviously at home and our batting was still considered top notch. That Australia team, great as it was hadn't won in India in over 30 years. And while that Australian team had a better batting lineup, I'll argue the bowling attack of the current Australian team was better rated Link to comment

Langer kicked the bin in fury lol... 2021>>>2001 What when did langer do that? Link to comment

Stronger Indian teams have toured Aus before without winning. Even on this tour, people were predicting 4-0. Link to comment

The current has good fast bowlers and good bench strength. The older teams had one good fast bowler. Link to comment

R!TTER
McWarne, Lee Gillespie weren't always bowling on the roads of Oz - McWarne probably only had to endure that during the last 2-4 years of their career. Not all pitches were drop in back then, the likes of MJ, Starc definitely have it tougher. Link to comment

goose
so many posts focusing on the optics of pre-match odds like the actual 'cricket' that unfolded is a footnote. wierd Edited January 25, 2021 by goose Link to comment
