Nikola Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) I think Flintoff is really underrated in odis. As batsman he could score quick runs if needed lower down the order and as a bowler i think he has been as good as anyone to play this format. He had pace, bounce, accuracy, yorker, swing, seam everything great bowler needs to have. With bat he averaged 46 with strike rate of 94.33 at #5 position (48 innings). As bowler he averaged 24 in odis (141 matches) which is great for any era even as pure bowler. He got better since 2003 and here are his stats since then. With Bat only KP had better average than him (since 2003 till his retirement) As bowler he was well ahead of his bowling partners. I think he would have have been in top 5 odi cricketers of all time if he would have played bit more cricket and maybe for better team. What do you guys think? Nikola Posted January 31, 2021 Author Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) As bowler he can bowl 145+ easily. Here are few of his yorkers. If conditions favored him a bit he was unplayable for great batsman as well. Edited January 31, 2021 by Nikola
Tibarn Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Well Cricviz did name him the ODI player of the century, so... https://www.cricviz.com/andrew-flintoff-named-21st-century-odi-mvp On a serious note, it's obvious he was a good player. The rest of the English team was terrible in ODIs otherwise his all-around skill would be appreciated. On their team of that era, he was just wasted.
rkt.india Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 One of the most difficult bowlers to score runs of.
kohli Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 In odi klusner & Flintoff are greatest all rounder
Serpico Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 (edited) He's overrated in tests and underrated in ODIs. Easily their best ever ODI bowler and will walk into their current champion team ahead of wood or archer Edited February 1, 2021 by Serpico
Majestic Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 He is an ODI legend and a great test all-rounder.

Majestic Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Kapil, Klusenar, Flintoff and Jayasuriya top 4 IMO.
