Rahul Chahar should be tried in 2nd test

Considering the poor bowling in 1st test and available options,Rahul Chahar might be one of the best option for 2nd test for following reason:

1. Versatility: Great turner with superb googly;speed of 85 hence good for slow chennai wicket;can deceive with flight

2. Character:Has penetration and determination of test bowler.

He has decent first class record 69 wickets in 17 matches at average of 28.62.Considering his IPL and SMAT performances he has improved immensely over year - has more control over line length and can "turn ball at much flatter trajectory".I strongly believe currently he might be better than even Ashwin.

Ashwin+Rahul Chahar+Kuldeep+Thakur+Siraj/Bumrah = best bowling attack

Problem is Root Destroyed Hasaranga who is a lot similar to Rahul Chahar..  May or may not work in my view.

Anyone over Nadeem and  I'm all for him, Sundar has made his case strong with his batting, But he needs to improve his bowling. Jaddu is dearly missing, I'm sure he would have trapped this MoFo Root LBW and stopped his favorite scoring shot- sweep. TM needs to come with some plan to counter Root's scoring shots.

Irrespective of Rahul's ability, the real tragedy dawned upon me today. I was looking through the Indian squad and closely checking the records of net bowlers & standby players. This activity is usually reserved after each game for the RCB squad during the IPL. FML!

Furious at our TM for not having proper cover and for Axar to have run into injuries after just playing some T20s!

 

Whilst I am at it, has anyone seen Saurabh Kumar bowl? Thoughts on his effectiveness?

Just bring Kuldeep back. TM thinks he is good enough to be in the squad and then says no we really don’t like you and runs around to find other outsiders. Enough already.

Axar vs Chahar comparison : Axar is not good turner of ball while Chahar can turn the ball on day 1 pitch.Chahar has more variations - googly,quick flatter deliveries,deception with flight.Axar's inability to spin and slowness are disadvantages though he has excellent control over line and length.Saurabh Kumar is better red ball bowler than Axar as he gets turn like Leach.

He has been added to squad for a reason.
