Can ICC penalize Chennai's pitch based on pitch rating system ?

if Ashwin can score a century.... i would be surprised to see how pitch can be rated as poor. most of the English batsmen got out to nothing shots.

Javagal Srinath is match referee.

 

He is one of the better reputed referees out there. Hopefully he will understand and won't go overboard.

 

Additionally, TNCA can always throw argument of current COVID situations being uncommon with 2 tests played at same venue.

Even a pitch is super flat can be rated as poor pitch.

 

But yeah, match going upto 4 days is definitely supports the idea that it's not poor pitch.

Unless it is spitting cobras with uneven bounce. I don't see how anyone can rate this pitch as bad.

Ok but irrelevant, my point was . This pitch was batted on by both the teams it did not change its behaviour mid way , one of the teams scored close to 300 runs in second inning. there is nothing wrong with the pitch with evidence in play.
