Flashback: When Sehwag won Ind the CT2002

Sehwag was unstoppable during tournament, Remeber him and Ganguly tormenting England in one of the match. Played a part with bowl in SF against South Africa. If not for the rain, we would have definitely won this CT. Unfortunately 3 champions trophy after this one were disastrous for us untill 2013.

In those conditions and those days it wasnt 

We werent good chasers those days.

 

Captaincy matters - ur leader body language rubs on whole team. 

 

 

Check TVS final and asia cup 2004 final both has the answer to why wee wud have crumbled that day.

Bhai let us agree to disagree. Too many bad memories of us flunking easy chases against SL, in finals in that era. On SL pitches their spinners (Murali, Chandana, Arnold, Sanath, Aravinda) would make life miserable in middle overs and keep chipping away, almost always used to end in heartbreak. We became a good chasing side only around 2006 under Dravid/Chappell....2002 MO was just not good enough, even someone like Yuvi was a proper bunny against mediocre spinners forget Murali, they also had that stupid Sachin at #4 experiment in that phase. Viru wasn't consistent then, never was in ODIs as a matter of fact, could expect swashbuckling 50s only for him to throw it away like a troll. 

 

2 things I differ compared to general ICF view:

1. 2002 CT F we were the luckier side in the final..especially the first one where they managed 245 

2. 2004 Chennai test we were set to lose pretty tamely on 5th day, and Aussies would have been gunning for a whitewash in Mumbai
