Gill should just let him be don't spoon Feed the guy. 6 minutes ago, express bowling said: Exactly ! He faced the same problem in SMAT too where the captain told him to bowl short ball barrages as he is quick. Gill appreciated Ashok's bowling and his fielding. He mentioned that he'll get better as he plays more. I know he can't say negative openly, but it's a fresh perspective as I'm fed up with commentators and players talking about "line and lenght" tapandrun, Lone Wolf, tweaker and 4 others 7
Popular Post Need4Speed Posted March 31 Popular Post Posted March 31 (edited) I felt as this was his debut match he didnt bowl flat out fast..wanted to opt for better control and probably listening to the coaches and captain..moreover the relatively lower total to defend and brisk start also made him go for control rather than pace.. I was really impressed by the quality and control of his slower balls..back of the hand ones are tough to hit and master.. Even though Prasidh was successful.he looked one trick pony to me..Ashok is bringing more variety.. More he plays at this stage..the confidence he gets..faster he will bowl and better he will become.. He has got all the good ingredients… Edited March 31 by Need4Speed speedster, bouncers, Rightarmfast and 8 others 11

express bowling Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Ashok Sharma is very quick in the air, skiddy off the deck and medium height. Captains must use him to attack the stumps at pace and use bounce as a surprise weapon. Then he will succeed like his 3rd over. And if he is used as an enforcer, and told to bowl 4 to 5 short balls an over, he will fail like his 2nd over ... as he gets normal bounce and is not super bouncy but skiddy off the deck. Hope they don't make the same mistake with Ashok as they did with Umran. Vk1, speedster, Mosher and 5 others 8

Lone Wolf Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Ian Bishop seems impressed with Ashok asked Gill about him specifically in the post match even Pommie was intrigued with him. Gill and GT TM seems to be impressed with him as well. Hopefully he does well in upcoming games as Gill being an India captain will keep him closer to the National side as well. singhvivek141, Vk1, tweaker and 2 others 5

Prince have bowled v.well for lsg in last season, good that they are giving him preferences over mayank who has not played much cricket this year too. Prince has played cricket, think he was playing smat for delhi too.

Umesh too was treated poorly under MS, but he remained fit and hence was brought in whenever the "preferred" bowlers were injured. speedster, tapandrun and Rightarmfast 1 2
