Avesh has issues with fitness, he looses pace and drops down to 134-136. Even the balls at high pace, it seems it takes too much effort from his side to reach 144-145k. Someone on the expertise on action can comment more, but as a layman it looks like his heavy build and his action is causing him to loose stamina very quickly.
rkt.india Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Simarjeet was with MI last year but they didn't pick him back even at base price which CSK did. vishalvirsingh 1
nsareen Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Kuldeep sen drops his pace after his initial deliveries, seems to be bowling within himself. one gets the feeling he can bowl a bit more fast , but he doesn’t put in the extra oomph.. different bowling style and stamina .. Umran did not try a nasty bouncer to gaikwad, after getting hit he could have rattled him with the bouncer but he chose to bowl length which gaikwad dealt with easily.. still some learning for umran but good that he is not bowling wayward & it’s a length which needs some adjustment.. also noticed that he bowled his fastest in his 2-3rd over & maintained it in the 4th.. which is the right strategy, something kuldeep sen can learn from.. Both Mohsin / Kuldeep if can run in a bit more harder , with a longish runup, potentially can give them a bit more speed , but they may lose their control.. specially mohsin has a very short run up , seems to not build momentum and just ambles in and uses shoulder strength to generate 140+ deliveries.. MK55 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Umran should have tried some bouncers to Gaikwad. He got a lot of clean-bowled wickets in the last match so cant blame him much. Also, most of his full deliveries were at high pace and well directed. But the thing is, I'm sure these batsmen do a lot of prep prior to the match. I mean what else is that batting coach/analyst for? They were expecting the full stuff after the mode of his dismissals in the last game. Ruturaj was timing it well, but I'm 100% sure that a couple of back to back well directed bouncers would have either hit him or got him dismissed. At least it would have messed up his composure. He hit some boundaries off Umran at the start and when he attempted one slightly back of length delivery, that got edged to the boundary too. And then he kept going back to high speed yorkers and full length stuff and he fell right into his trap. Also, that wicket was embarrassingly slow and most of these Indian grounds are always small. Slightly faster wicket would have completely changed the match-up. Suhaan and Mosher 2
MK55 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 (edited) Also, lots of exciting fast bowling prospects in this year's IPL. It's not just the usual suspects like Prasidh, Siraj, Shami, Bumrah etc. Sen, the new guy Simarjeet, Mohsin and off-course the express guy and the most exciting thing in Indian cricket right now - Umran. They all want to bowl fast. The selectors should be forward looking. These bowlers need to be given exposure ASAP. And Umran needs to be taken care of and fast-tracked. I don't care what the other bowlers or people think. Bowling at that pace is special and so he deserves that preferential treatment coz of his potential. In slightly favorable bowling conditions, and if he continues to remain wicket-to wicket, he will be unplayable. Just needs to get that bouncer/field placements right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I found that Umran wasn't able to judge ideal length in his first over. He kept improving from there on. Pitch was on slower side & Umran had no protection in V.. Kane himself misjudged the pace of the pitch & kept fielders in fly slip & at third man.. Usual field sets for Umran. Gaikwad took advantage of that & was well set & timing the ball so good. Not only Umran but Captains also need to take a closer look at the field sets. In Test cricket they have to carefully manage fly slip third man, Short leg & conventional position of slips. Umran did bowl a couple of slower deliveries bit they didn't grip. Don't think Conway was that comfortable against him. It was just Gaikwad at his best.

He needs protection in third man deep fine leg area for that line Matches before he had fielders there Not seen yesterday, bouncers will fly in those areas Atleast he should have asked for it MK55, express bowling and Mosher 3

Mesky99 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Hopefully fans haven't forgotten akashdeep Singh after the emergence sen, dayal, Mohsin, Mukesh etc, akash I think has great skill sets for the longer format, decent pace but hits the pitch hard, good direction and be a test enforcer, he should definitely be in the pecking order for India A.

Yes. Always get arshdeep and aksh deep singh confused. One is a trundler esque bounce based bowle. Other one is a fast medium to fast bowler with good bounce too. He has good ranji skills. Good player. Also what's your take on simarjeet? Edited May 2, 2022 by Jay

Here is Sachin doing the same to Lee Maybe he could have changed the angle ,tried round the wicket bouncers ,yorkers, change ups,try to mess with ruturaj's setup .It might not have worked but not everyone can keep their shape like Ab when trying different shots. I thought he could have cramped him a bit.. Also Rutu mistimed a pull & it went for a top edged four. A well directed one might have got him. Both Kane & Umran were short of game plan against Ruturaj. Also Umran needs to trust his yorkers a bit more. He nails them almost regularly. His length was too full as pointed out by @express bowling earlier. There wasn't enough pace in the pitch to get those nicks or fizz off the surface. express bowling and MK55 2

Everyone here thought simarjeet was fast medium at best but he did crank it up last night, he has a snap at the end with his release helps him generate pace, wiry lad a bit like agarkar but taller, he has decent basics but lacks a stock ball, doesn't quite hit the pitch hard enough, skiddy 140kph stuff can actually be very harmless, I think most of us pace lovers here would rate a bowler with bounce bowling at 135-138kph higher than a skiddy 140kph, I really hope we get to see hangaregekar soon. nsareen Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 It would have been really awesome if we had 2-3 150+ bowlers, would have spiced the tournament a lot.. This edition of IPL can give a lot of credit to Umran malik for creating a much higher viewership & excitement in the fans who watch SRK’s matches with much enthusiasm. I am certain there are other bowlers who are not unearthed, but are there for sure,. Only if the scouts are hyper active, we may be in a position to get 2-3 bowlers in the express category..
