They aren't weak per say, people participating in demanding games like Jalikattu can't be weak. Fast bowling isnt about brute strength...problem lies in the overall cricketing culture and pitches. TN has spin friendly pitches and even at the state level mediocre trundlers and spinners are promoted. Weather also add to the impediment.

I have see way too many strong tamils in the army camp etc. Natural strength from farm work and construction in rural areas. They just don't have a good sports culture and there is plenty of corruption when it comes to selections.

I have seen more than enough based on real life experience to know there are plenty of strong Tamils in rural areas. Doesn't mean it will translate to cricket ofcourse. There are many variables involved in developing fast bowlers.

The poor ones from rural areas who actually have the tough conditined and hardened bodies don't get opportunities etc. Only the upper middle class from metro cities get chances to represent the state and they are usually soft individuals like ash and sundar etc. Kashmir the conditions are different. Lokesh is real quck but he is currently a 4 over to 10 over bowler unfortunately.

So this notion that TN & Lankans are linked is not exactly true. Geography is Misleading sometimes.

In TN it's mostly the privileged that get opportunities via school and most of those kids from upper middle class are all soft.
