Pathirana is a nothing bowler. We all saw how he got exposed in odi.

Mukesh can bowl 140 plus for a few balls. He has before too. Even in int. So no surprise. The speed gun is correct.

 

If anything it reads slow given its india. The broadcasters love to self hate. They loathe our fast bowling quicks anyway.

Ishant can bowl in 140s kmph, he was doing that in IPL last season as well, they are just using him for his bowling bowl 3/4 over in PP and then get substituted right after.

 

Even in last phases of his intnl test carrier he was able to slip 1/2 balls in 140s.

 

Similar to Umesh who might not be able to get into 140s in longer format for sustained time, but in short bust  where he know he needs to bowl couple of over he can crank it up in 140s kmph

Yes both Mukesh (DC) and Akshdeep  (PBKS) have effort ball reaching in early 140s kmph in T20s

Pathirana is different prefect yorkers in 150s v.hard to dig out, no batter would like to face him in t20s or when they have to go after bowling.

 

ICC should look into such actions ... it going lower and lower, Pathirana is  lower is than baseball pitcher almost how fielders throw. Not saying he is chucking just how low is too low.

WC is in us and wi and how many faster bowlers would they pick. Bhumrah is in. Considering amount of time and Invested in Mukesh so he is in.

Akshdeep LAF so he is in. Then if Pandya is fit he is in too. Shami is there too.

 

They should try faster bowler in Odis with Bhumraha, where he have some space and if they faulter in line or length or have 1/2 bad over they have Bhumrah to cover-up

You just have to look at how Nortje bowled to Dhoni in that last over. Zero pressure/ match won and yet he bowled crap. These SENA bowlers definitely come under prepared or show less interest. Can't say the same for their batsmen. They learn and raise their game to next level in IPL.

Nortje is coming of an injury and does not have much cricket behind him, it was same last season too first few games he bowled into early 140s and then started to crack it up as the season went on.

 

Its just IPL team wants 75-80% fit intnl player to play in 11 and sometimes they are not ready. Same thing happen with Archer with MI he was unfit and they wanted him to produce results up front.

 

IPL TM are well aware of the injuries and recoveries but still they want intnl player in 11.

Yes have not seen much variation in IPL speeds and Intnl speeds of the bowler. They seems to be same. No overclocking.

Ishant used to hit near 150 at his peak. And he always had superb fitness. Makes sense that he can still crank it to 145 now.

My point was about IPL TMs looking to introduce more genuine quicks as Mayank, Pathirana and Burger have changed the fortunes of matches bowling 150 k.
