PLease notice this point - new fast bowlers harshit got a chance n he impressed, Mayank has got the social media crazy, Batsman give respect to genuine Pace. see alzary, even see Ishant when he is bowling above 140( clean bowled russel off a 144.5 k yorker on a flat track)- I mean when the bowler is generating pace , he is getting respect too see khaleel , mayank ,even mohsin is getting SUCCESS. alzary, pathirana and one more fiery foreign fast bowler was looking unplayable as they were bowling fast. Point I intend to make is - Speed succeeds even in T20 provided its the right line n length. With Pace the batters' only option is to use that pace or slash hard and hope edge carries to the boundary not the fielders. They have lesser time to come into power position/stance. They can not manoeuver as they please. There power shots are limited, with trundlers they can get into position/power stance and can club the ball from there, they have multiple options, the good thing with trundlers is edge does not go to boundaries and simple drives give fielding team chance to chase down the ball before it reaches to 4. Pathirana nailing yorker at v.high pace batters are not at all set-up for 4/6 they just want to negotiate the 150 kmph yorker and hope they make it to next over. express bowling and vishalvirsingh 2

vishalvirsingh Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 touch wood - Mayank is bowling fast and with a line n length that is unplayable BUT by chance, if his line n length vary and he gets a beating in one of the matches or a few matches- selectors and Team coaches need to support him fully like they supported SIRAJ. umraan was getting some support from selectors but later his franchisee kind of did not pick him in the 11. brett lee, shoaib , srinath , zak became BIG players bcos they were backed. Hope LSG frachisee and INDIA team support them. i read an article which said khaleel and mayank are getting considered and siraj could be dropped owing to his bad form and shammi is unfit for world cup. bhuvi, mukesh and avesh may not be considered. though it is too early to decide. express bowling 1

vishalvirsingh Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 well done ishant...we are proud of you! . i will not have any regrets if you are picked in a test or odi or t20 to represent India. he became a better bowler at the end of his career.

Lee has congratulated INDIA to get an express bowler and Stuart has as steven smith to be worried and be ready to face mayank in Australia. We( cricket analysts in indian cricket fans) could go wrong but Stuart broad OR Steven Smith OR Brett Lee cannot be wrong about FAST BOWLING SELECTIONS. @agarkar - please take note. kindly request agarkar and team to get Morne Morkel or any Super fast bowling coach as PARAS OR Dravid may be good fast bowling coach but they are not the BEST in the world , if BCCI can offer big money - why not get the best bowling coach.

Kron Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 This is indian mentality from casual fans and even passionate ones in general About pace you see these comments all the time. Such as; Fast bowling cannot do anything unless and until you have accurecy Glen McGrath hardly crossed 140km/h..Still one the greatest of all time phle indians rote h ki 150+ bowler nahi h india me aur jab koi aa jata fir use kaafi harshly criticize karte ho smh He just had pace,he lacked skills. He never bowled proper line and length. He failed badly in that series. Mentality has to change. First opt to bowl fast. Just fast and then work on skills. Results will come automatically. tapandrun and JaFanatic 2

It's a vicious cycle, will take ages to change. Despite us being the best pace bowling attack in WC 2023. Dravid & co went for a sluggish pitch and it backfired right on their face. Not sure if that's due to lack or trust on pacers, or due to lack of trust on the batters ability to play pace. Mosher and express bowling 2

Didn't icc create that pitch, and there was swing under light ,we didn't bowl that well either. But you are right ,we just arent that keen on pacers, old habit die hard. Our slip catching ain't that great either ,nor is the over rate as they waste time and slow things down, which means you need to bring on the spinners to quicken it up. These things are very important to maintain the pace attack.

Agreed but don't you feel it's a bit difficult to produce quality bouncy flat pitches like Australia in India though due to weather?

Australian weather is also hot. Difference is in soil. Old dharmshala pitch had high clay content which made it pacy with bounce. Now they relaid the pitch for WC and it has become slow too. Kron 1
