Harshit needs to develop a good, quick and accurate yorker.  He will be unstoppable in LOIs then.

Added alot to his bowling in just couple of seasons, Yorker will make him a kind of good white ball bowler.

Would have like to see him bowling at top pace in one of those matches, but slower ones worked for him.

He was the only bright spot in terms of upcoming pacers. Mayank and Umran didnt get much of game time.

Tyagi was unimpressive in that one match (v.small sample) but heard he changed his action can not keep changing action every season or mid season.

Should have bowled with older action atleast in this IPL and then work on newer action in off seasons.Getting fewer chances can not let them go experimenting.

From the bowling POV...I would expect now Harshit to be part of Test bowling asap

Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Akashdeep & Harshit should be in the scheme of things. Given Shami is getting old & Siraj often goes missing in key games, its important to elevate both Harshit & Akash as the core group of fast bowlers. Harshit with his ability to bat can also be a much needed no 8 for Indian Team. Akashdeep too is handy with the bat.

Siraj in my opinion is at the crossroads now, he is playing regularly yet hasn't been able to elevate his game in the longest format. Few good spells here & there followed by long spells of innocuous bowling, on top of that his fielding & batting are of not much help.

Imo Mayank showed what he has got if he is upto full fitness... So no issues there.

Umran's exclusion was legendary as he only bowled 1 friggin over in entire season... without fitness issues.

Tyagi got a couple of games only.

Kuldeep Sen also got 2-3 games and he looked faster than previous seasons on average.

Simarjeet only got 2-3 games at the fag end... Still generated a MoTM performance.

Others aren't worth mentioning... Harshit was the brightest prospect & he got enough fame and limelight which will push him into national side very soon.

Mayank, in just 3 games, was more impressive than any IPL 2024 pacer not named Bumrah.

Tyagi was reasonsbly accurate and bowled 137 k to 149 k. Not bad for someone playing after 3 months. If he got to play more, he could have improved.

Mayank didn't get many overs to bowl owing to injury wanted to see him for atleast 5-6 matches when team knew about him and his extra pace and how would he respond to that.

Tyagi was not wayward but not even 1 wkt taking ball, know he is highly rated here by some, but need to show something in IPLs, he is not even getting 5 matches per IPL season after that 1st season. Should have been ready for what ever chances he gets, there are high chances of him ending up like Nagarkoti who had more hype after that U-19 wc. GT is already his 3rd team and no team is showing faith in him.

There are 2 low key series coming up after the WC would be an interesting scenario for selectors

Siraj is finished. Drop him permanently

Other 4 are great

Add in himanshu chauhan and kuldeep. Should be potent.

Classic india. Expect bowler to perform right away but then the same will never feccking apply for batsmen.

Useless india

Maybe good karma for donating money to Indians during covid situation.

Harshit Rana constantly bowling cutters is troublesome.

In the long term, fast bowlers who constantly bowl cutters and try to put revs on the ball suffer from elbow and shoulder injuries. Especially the off cutter I think.

Needs to develop a split finger slower ball  or a cross seam delivery etc.

Cummins bowl the cutters as a variety as well.

Harshit will learn, he has already proved to be a quick learner. He just need to use his slower delivery only as a surprise weapon and not over do it, maybe Bumrah will help him to get that planning done.

It's a recent phenomenon for Cummins after years of bowling with a well drilled conventional action.   And Cummins also bowls slower balls that aren't exactly cutters I guess.

Tyagi first need to stick to one action and also change his state team. UPCA is not treating him well, he shouldn't waste his best years on the bench. A strong VHT & SMAT will get him in the auction for next year IPL.

His wickets per match stats are best in List A followed by T20.

Assuming Tyagi is 145 + kmph bowler and able to hit 150s often - Such bowlers does not have long career span, they are at their peak for a short time where as a team you want to use them.

Posted this before - Its Tyagi's 3rd team already he has not played 5 matches after the 1st season for his team. This should have been his breakout season to make some name- With Umesh at retiring phase, Shami out with Injury and Mavi out too, he should have been picked. Next year is big auction donot think GT will pick him and a new team (his 4th) will not give him matches right away.

So what ever game time he got he should have used it to maximize his chances to get to starting 11, Umran did same in his first season with garbage time matches.

Umran bowled couple of ball into 150s and then he was in playing 11 next year. Why he didnt play this season is a different topic.

Sen played for Ind but now no one is talking about him even RR is keeping him on bench.

Its hard for a player to get into Ind team with just Domestic performances  unless they are Mukesh Kumar.

And for someone who is not a permanent part of an IPL team its hard for those too, as they lack backing and lobbing by IPLteams.

Do not think Tyagi has similar kind of hype as was for Nagakoti and Mavi and both are finding it hard Mavi got in Ind team because of GT and Pandaya connection.

Nagarkoti is not even playing for Rajasthan not sure if injured or something else.

Haven't seen other type of deliveries, but if he does then he must have learnt it gradually.

Harshit is a strong lad, one of the ones who can bowl long spells with intensity. He is very similar to Akashdeep who also bowled long spells without slowing down.

Let him add those variations slowly, I will vouch for him in Tests & ODI's first...T20 not needed at this moment.

Moving to anyother team should be dealt properly , should come to an agreement of some sort to get atleast x no. of games.

Else he too will be on bench like Sen had to.

There are 10 teams in IPL some1 would pick him but again that would be his 4th team, and take a look at how Ind team selection happens and the process.

Player should have a strong association with some IPL team to be selected , only Harshal Patel was selected to Ind team after moving to so many teams but then he was RCB that time and had a gr8 IPL season

Nagarkoti's case is different, he is hardly 5.8, Tyagi is blessed with height at 6.2 height.

Also, Nagarkoti seems to be going Nathu Singh's way, another tearaway quick which was praised by Rahul Dravid, but partially due to injuries & partially due to his laziness, he lost the track and went in non cricketing business.

Tyagi is still around and playing games, he was fit for large part of 2023 & played UPT20 League, SMAT & VHT. But again UPCA don't consider him as a mainstay due to his history with injuries. He need to break that perception.

Best option for him is to switch to any other side who need & values quick pacers. Not like Sen who went to TN and his entire career has gotten a setback.

Sumit Kumar was talk of the town in SMAT, turned out a bang average bowler. Anshul Kamboj has bit of pace & he did decently. Mukesh Kumar is just a quota pick backed by Bengal, they should have backed Akash who is a much better bowler, batter & fielder than Mukesh.

That's what. I want bowlers like him to bowl and get their stock deliveries nailed on for longer formats.

our pacers should be bumrah, shami (selectively, since he is around 40), harshit, akashdeep, and himanshu chauhan in long formats.

mayank is currently not suited for long formats. too fragile.

ODIs these days are the safest options to draft in any new bowler ,T20 is becoming v.difficult does not give them chance to make a come back.

Mayank should be handled as Eng is using Wood play him only few matches in the series keep him fresh and fit and when he is fully ready give is longer run.

Himanshu Chauhan was impressive this season in Ranji, strange no IPL team took him even as injury cover GT, LSG ...?

It was refreshing to see some1 taking wkts with bouncers and intimidating batters in Ranji trophy match.
