After Dhoni, Indian team needed a Greame Smith as captain, but got a Kohli

I remember people were pissed off at lack of fight from team during Dhoni's later years.

At that time, Kohli was mistaken as match winning mindset person because he was aggressive on field.

Probably Indian team needed Greame Smith type leader with fighting attitude, but a Kohli.

If India could have went with Rohit instead of Kohli for LOIs I believe our results would have been better, don't know about tests though. Rohit compared to Kohli did not have any standout star status and didn't have a perceived image of an 'aggressive'  egomaniac that he needed to keep up with.  Rohit had a higher avaerage than kohli as well as a win record in IPL during 2015-16 when kohli was selected as a captain.

Despite his deficiencies, he was decent till 2018 - backing Bumrah in tests, getting KulCha after CT, trying Khaleel, giving Rahul a proper run in tests. Post that, he developed massive insecurities as a captain once Rohit won Nidhash Trophy, and Asia Cup in 2018 and

IPL 2019. Ever since then, he started to play all tricks to accumulate as much power as he could. Then the first test series win in Australia made him super arrogant. He was finished as a leader after that

He was good during initial years in tests. In LOIs, I have never considered him great captain neither had expectations from him when he recalled back Yuvi in side soon after becoming captain. His incompetence was very much evident in India's WC-19 Planning. In test, his approach has totally become rigid, lesser said about his batting is better. Anyway,it's time now, Maybe Ashwin?? He is sure starter in team, plays only one format, has great knowledge about game.
