Jay Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 I disagree. I think Sibley is quite decent in seam conditions. He sucks vs spin. Australia will be surprised. He won't score much but he will do his job. Wear off the new ball so the better stroke players can take advantage.
Lone Wolf Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 They also said similar things about Pujara albeit not that harsh as they knew what he did in 2018/19. But tbh I agree with them. Sibley is decent to have in English conditions but I'll take someone like Crawley in a heart beat in Australia.

If not for the generous Pakistani bowlers, he would be out of the team by now. Atleast sibley can tire the bowlers which might be crucial in 5 match series Lord 1

At least one guy has to score runs & not defend all the time. Then Crawley has actually higher ceiling than Sibley too. Sibely also ain't scoring much these days. He will be tested against India first & then we'll see.
kohli Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Lol Mark waugh was also rahane like test batsman. sage 1
maniac Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Gotta say agree with them. What an eyesore of a batsman. England is producing so many exciting cricketers so definitely this Sibley guy sticks out like a sore thumb. Comparison with Pujara is unfair. Pujara when he started had shots against spinners at home and would up his strike rate. This sibley is a glorified nightwatchman. Big fan of Lawrence though. Classy player
