Great news, he seems to be a man on a mission. Giving up on white ball dreams was the best thing to happen to him. Kumble became a vital asset in overseas conditions post-2003-04 tour to Aus, hope Ashwin does even better and firmly cements his position as a legend.

Ashwin has represented Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire in the past.

 

Now Surrey, in place of the injured Jamieson.

Ashwin (replacing Jamieson), Amla the overseas picks for Surrey. From test squad the team also has Burns, Pope, Sam Curran, Foakes. They too will get insights. Ashwin shouldn't be too chummy with them especially skipper Burns

Returns not important, just don't overstrain, don't get a niggle. Time out in the middle is important. Get those competitive juices flowing after 2 weeks of vacation, settle in on the ideal line/length. If possible bat for a few minutes, just get the rhythm, net practice doesn't simulate match environment no matter what this idiotic TM believes.

if Rory couldnt get used to his variations in full India tour,some nets wont make a difference
