@Gollum do we have any  impact players by ICF cricket definition in the hockey team (eg: Shaw,Pandya bros) or are those world class well rounded players?

Dunno about ICF definitions man.

This is a grounded Indian team (no Pandya bros type characters), well-rounded for most part. Best defence I have seen in an Indian side (Aus match was an outlier), fittest and fastest ever Indian side, great teamwork, hardworking guys, strong character (like we saw after that massacre against Aus), experienced solid keeper who also doubles up as our leader (though Manpreet is the captain). Very likable side, play hard but fair, I know I am praising them a lot but they deserve all the adulation. We have been lucky with our coaches as well, wasn't the case 15 years ago. Even if we don't medal this Indian squad will go on to achieve great feats which eluded Indian sides of the past 30+ years. Yet to peak, see that happening in the next cycle of WC and Olympics.

I have bashed our forwards a lot on this thread but they are inexperienced and suddenly putting them in Olympics spotlight means we must give them a break. Their decision making in circle, inability to collect more PCs etc aren't skill related, will come with experience.

Young side still, only Sreejesh will have to be replaced (in max 2 years time) and those are big shoes to fill. We have world class players in every age group and position, I don't see a weak link in our squad, thankfully no super star culture yet (problem with Sardara Singh who retired 2 years ago) and no big egos over stuff like captaincy. Also we won the previous junior WC, system is brimming with talent. Just want more Indians to tune in to support this team, more entertaining than our cricket side for sure.

Now kuch bhi karke we need to ensure we don’t play netherlands

All KO matches will be tough man. I only wanted us to avoid Belgium since they are a class apart, and scars from 2016 QF may reopen.
