Not on concrete though. Mat is safer.

Still wrestling injuries are so common, people even break their necks while escaping moves or when slammed on the mat. Several such videos on YT.

Maybe india conserved their energy vs Aussies too. Peak at the right time hopefully.

India's strategy was wrong, played right into the hands of the Aussies. And it was an off day, even the usually reliable Sreejesh had a game to forget.

Whattt.. pakistan less than wales. Half the wales hockey players are not even professionals. They have day jobs

from a humanity perspective it’s so disgusting. Once a great hockey nation ruined due to extremism and too braindead to realize how it’s biting them in the ass.  Our politicians are equally corrupt and incompetent too but salute to our people and culture. This isn’t even a chest thump to diss those guys and hope they see it for what it is.

Oh yea. Wrestling in street fight can be scary. But then there is groin shots, eye gouging, eye pokes, fish hook, knee stomps etc to stop the take down attempt.

Wrestling is a brutal sport. Put a middleweight wrestler, say around 170 lbs. He would throw around even a 300 lb guy who isn't trained in Wrestling and dump him on his head.

Do they have potential to get back to the top? Man they used to kick our ass post 90s to about mid 2000.

I like Pakistan in hockey. Just can't stand them in cricket.

Pakistan seem to lack talent in hockey post 2010. Wonder why.

Anirban Laheri  is playing well in Golf, regardless of where he finishes, fantastic to see his game.

Hope for good news. I don't really follow golf, don't understand the sport well enough to enjoy it, but goooo Anirban :cheer:

Tough for him to go under par, the more underpars you have the higher you are in leader board.  But margin og error is very less, hence I say he has played well.

Anyway, to understand basic golf, every hole in golf is given a number depending on its dificulty and players are expected to complete the hole in certain number or shots. So suppose if a standard difficulty level hole takes 3 shots and a player makes that hole in his first shot instead of 3, then he is -2 on board or -2 under par as they say in Golf, meaning he will be higher up in the rank than someone who takes 3 full shots to complete the hole. That is how players increase the lead based on every hole. So higher the negative number, the higher is your rank in the scoreboard.

Have played golf for fun and don't really know much about the game but I hope he does well.

I truly believe Indian athletes have gotten better this time. Just need a better structure and more funding.

It's so hard though honestly. It took me more than 300 attempts to actually strike the ball rofl when I first started.

To see pros actually be able to strike the ball and land it right on target is just astonishing. Golf is an incredibly hard sport in terms of technique and skill.

Ya after playing cricket we feel we can do this but it is a lot difficult. I felt similar when I got my hands on Golf club for the first time.

Tennis is similar experience but only difference with Tennis is that you need to make sure you can slow the pace of the ball so it doesn’t fly out of court. Golf is very technical and requires great footwork, very much like batting in cricket at times where you generate pace in some of your shots through your batting stance and trigger movements etc.

It’s actually a very easy game to understand, fun to play, but one of the most boring games to watch but I guess you watch chess too :giggle:

Imo tennis is easier to learn compared to golf. Personal experience.

Cricketing skills DONOT translate well into golf.

Tennis imo height helps. So much easier to serve.

Djokovic got destroyed by Zverev. This is what happens to Djokovic when opponents don't choke or bring their best level. Djokovic has been lucky this year, with opponents either choking or not good enough. Truly a weak era to pad stats.

Harsh. Nole is too good in RLA, SW19 CC and in 5-setters becomes much harder to beat. What was lucky this year? He cruised through in AO and Wimbledon (never had to play his best), made an epic comeback in RG F (the Greek's fitness failed him at the end) but let's be honest, after what he did in the SF against Nadal, very hard to root against him in the F, that draw of his was brutal as well.

Beating Nole in 5-setters is a tall order, for example Federer's last GS tournament win over him was way back in 2012, had a few chances to get more wins but couldn't finish the job despite playing well.

Quote

Djokovic himself choked this match, a set and a break up, and decides to lose 8 games in a row.

He was outplayed I'd say. Zverev is capable of doing that to anyone in BO3, so often we have seen him go on rampage, for 1-2 sets he can become unplayable like 2014 USO Cilic. That's all you need in  BO3 format, upsets so much more common.

Mental fatigue too must have played a part.

Federer and Nadal don't lose 8 games in a row to anybody, especially when being a set and a break up.

They too had their share of disappointments, * ups, even on their favorite courts. Like the QF against Tsonga in 2011 Wimbledon when Fed suddenly stopped playing tennis after winning 1st 2 sets. Fed that year was in amazing form, what happened?

Or how Nadal got destroyed by Nole in the 4th set of recent RG SF, lost 6 straight games after being 2-0 up.

These things happen.

I do feel competition has declined post 2012 tbf. Federer well past his prime after 2014 ish.

Nadal still good. But the field is so much weaker in grand slams.

Still;

Greatest of all time rankings has to be?

1) nole

2) federer?

3) nadal

I'd say field for Grand Slam events declined from 2017. Fed was still brilliant in 2014, '15, Nadal had two bad seasons in 2015 and' 16 but apart from that he was always up there with the best.

But key is 2012-16 had peak Murray, peak Wawrinka. Other non big 3 players then (Berdych, injured Potro, Tsonga, Raonic, Ferrer, Nishikori etc.) comparable to today's rising youngsters but those 2 kept the playing field tough. Murray denied Nole two majors in 2012-13 and a record equaling ATP Finals in 2016, we all know what Stan did to Nole in that period.

Agree with this. Nadal has too many holes in his resume to displace Fed, even if he wins more majors.

Nole's resume is better than Fed's....even diehard Fed fans don't deny this anymore.

Yea agreed.

Nadal leads the h2h vs federer albeit on favourable courts although he did match him even on hardcourts except indoors.

Nadal has more masters but again there are more slow hard courts which suit him.

Case can be made for Nadal to be 2 but yea I will have him at 3 after federer.

It's crazy to think that not too long ago federer was labelled as the GOAT and that no one could surpass him.

Nole post 2016 benefited from weak era.

Man these modern era players are useless. This gen sucks so bad. Useless talent. Just tall fodders with poor coordination. Zverev is the only decent one. At this rate nole can hit even 27 slams. Federer might get one more max.

I see Nadal probably getting a couple more.

Thats right. I took a free golf lesson once from a PGA ranked guy and that’s the first thing he told me, don’t play it like cricket. Actually I was smashing it cricket style because all of us have that basic hand eye coordination playing gully cricket since child hood but once he set my grip surpassingly I was hitting the ball even further.
