It is less likely in open spaces but if a person, who can infect, comes very close and coughs or sneezes then there is still risk of transmission.

In open air, you need to be less than 6 feet snd interact over 20 minutes to have any chance of infection. Cpughs and sneezes dissipate in open air and sun light affects it too. Even then its very less chance

We played England home series without any cases and under strict bubble. There is no such thing in England. They don't have any bubble st hotel too. Infection could have come from anywhere. People are just Guessing it came from book unveiling but all players were there.

Yes but we provided a reason to ECB. Without that reaosn we would have the upper hand. Which is why BCCI is pissed

What you guys are not understanding is that its not only about this test. Our entire IPL can be at risk

Very good point.

Our players and support staff are not secure in the Hotels provided by the ECB.

BCCI should raise this point if the question of deferment of the series comes. We should not agree on deferment at all.

Whether you like it or not, kohli and shastri have given them a reason. If they had not, all your points would be valid. Now it comes across as excuses

And even worse, IPL might be in danger

Only lifts are common areas in hotels, otherwise there is no chance of any interaction with others for over 20 minutes (time needed to ne infected)

I have lived in hotel quarantine for 10 days. There of 100s of situation where corona can come, that includes food plates , towels , beds, your hand on escalator, bus seat and so on. Did ecb find someone in book unveiling to be corona positive and came in contact of our team. Its all speculations.

Sure you are provided same level of quarantine as VIP players, lol

Dude this is not a court of law. We have provided ECB with an excuse which could be avoided. Thats all

The 20 minute thing is just a rough guideline. Doesn't always work. In real life people come within 2 feet and interact for a decent length of time. And it poses a risk as some of them may breathe into your face or cough too.

Closed spaces are far more risky because the virus can't dissipate but that does not mean open spaces are totally safe under all circumstances.

Not in open air. Cite the study saying 15 seconds please

OK I was talking about indoors.  As for my source it's from a mall in Sydney contact tracers found., not a peer reviewed study. One man literally just walked past another and infected him.  This was found repeatedly in Australia:

My question to ECB was why did they had matches in packed stadiums ither than making money at the price of risking players health. For example  Were Olympic organisers chewts that they organised such a massive event closed door.

Infection is very very rare in open spaces, particularly over 6 feet distance

U have no clue before doing lol. When you shell £2.2k for 10 nights for bare minimum facilities, its same as ur so called stars. Fyi, even Steven Smith stayed in same facility few days before i mooved in.

You can believe the coincidence that the same person who visited an enclosed crowded event was the first to test positive through "other" ways, but most people wont

@20:35: Fate of 5th Test hangs on Indian team’s COVID reports, expected around midnight. Speaking to ANI, sources in the know of developments said the report will come around 8pm (UK time, 12.30 AM IST) and some people might be forced to go for isolation as close contact. With physio Yogesh Parmar testing positive for COVID-19, a call on the next step can only be taken after the results come in.

Don’t make unsubstantiated claims. We played outdoors and our team also had to cancel matches to covid. And most clubs had to cancel atleast 1-2 matches due to covid. U can go and chk every division within Enngland

“A clear picture will be got around a little past midnight India time. The tests have been done by ECB’s testing agency and the reports will come in around 8pm UK time. With physio Nitin Patel in isolation, it was Parmar who was working with the team over the last few days and since he has tested positive, it will be the test reports which will decide the way forward,” the source told ANI.

The test players can be quarantined for 14 days from today. They can start playing the IPL from the 23rd.

Only 6 or 7 players will miss 2 games each.

Hopefully this works. But in the unluckiest case, a player can test positive after a week and then infect another who goes undetected into the team after a week

Dude, you can peddle the theory that the person who attended a crowded indoor event coincidentally was the first to test positive from other ways like hotel or audience but not many will buy that
