Similarities and differences between South Africa cricket during apartheid era and Pak cricket right now

A very small population of white Seth Afrikans with dutch ancestry made the domestic cricket there so strong ...when Seth Afrika came out of apartheid, they were smashing all the "top" international cricket teams left right and center.

The quality & number of world beating fast bowling all-rounders was just astonishing.

And they were made international pariahs for 30 years 1961-1991  - barring a few rebel tours.

Compare that to Pak. India ki saaazi, RAAA ki saazish. We have TALUNT.....blah blah blah.

Seth Afrika then proved that it is possible for domestic cricket ALONE to produce teams that are better than international teams.

Its all about character of the nation and its people.

Can't disagree with that. But they are richer and have a better system in place. Better access to sporting venues, facilities etc especially at the time.

India was a poor country. Getting better now.

Pak is well pak.

There is no character for nation that discrimnates people based on color.Just because cricket was good does not mean SA was a good nation. It is still very awful country where people of color are being dominated by minority white people.

You are right.

But the same thing can be said for Pak.

Shias and Ahmediyyas are considered non-Muslims and abused by the state.

We all know the forced conversions of Hindus and Sikhs. There are only a handful of Hindus left.

Pak is dominated by Punjabi Sunni Muslims.

everyone else is a second class citizen or third class citizen.

But it was horrible in SA for people of color. They just were treated as slaves. They still are treated as such by rich so called elite white people. Pakistan is no model country for anything but SA is worse.

I don't understand this post. Do you want Pakistan to be banned for 30 years?

Wouldn't be a bad idea. An active terrorist enabler state deserves a ban from all kinds of international sporting competition. Back in the 80s, India refused to play Davis Cup tennis against the apartheid Israel and just conceded the series against them. India should ideally do the same against Pakistan.

In SA, white vs black apartheid is well known but white vs Afrikaans discrimination is not that well known, at-least to outsiders. The Dutch speakers aka Afrikaaners were into Rugby and the English speaking Whites into cricket. Kepler Wessels, the first prominent Afrikaans cricketer, faced a lot of discrimination by the English speakers who didn't like him encroaching their territory. He was a national level tennis champion as well and got a university scholarship to the US. He almost decided to take up tennis to settle down in the US like his compatriot Johanne Kreik but stayed back to pursue cricket.

When Hansie Cronje was a fledgling international cricketer, fans put up placards imploring selectors to give him a chance, the insinuation being that he was being denied chances due to being an Afrikaaner. Even Allan Donald(an Afrikaaner despite an English sounding name) spoke of how, growing up,  his life was different compared to the "whites". It's funny how despite being white themselves, the Dutch speakers of SA call themselves Afrikaaners and call the English speakers as White! After Hansie became captain, the barriers for Afrikaans players were well and truly knocked down and by the time AB reached his peak dominating headlines the world over, Afrikaans discrimination ceased to be a topic. Faf, Steyn, Morkel, Kallis, Nortje and pretty much every non English sounding name is Afrikaans.

Interestingly, though the SA cricket team has massively under achieved, their Rugby team has won the world cup. So talk of choker SA DNA is limited only to cricket.
