If KKR win, is Morgan's performance the worst for a winning IPL captain over a season?

Because of his leadership skills that turned around KKR's fortunes (remember DK resigned mid season), I doubt KKR would want to trade Morgan for a Rohit (a non performer over many years who slots himself as an opener), a KL (occupies the opener's slot) or a Kohli (moved himself to open) ... Similarly, CSK would not trade Dhoni under whom CSK made it to the final when it narrowly escaped the wooden spoon last season

It is time to clap for both these captains, who turned the fortunes of their teams around!

KKR appeared hopeless earlier in the season, while CSK was laughed at last season ... But these teams under these captains are playing the final

Rohit has had one of the strongest teams (many are who is who of T20s) over the years, Kohli has benefitted from a variety of match winners who can single handedly change a game, KL has had a lot of talented players, and Pant had a team with bowlers in form, but these guys still mess up

KKR has made brilliant use of guys like V Iyer and Tripathi. CSK has used guys like Gaikwad, Moeen and Jadeja well.

Agree with @zen

shorter the game, more onus on the captain to make a difference.

T20 is changing where a pure captain makes a significant difference even if he doesn’t contribute elsewhere

MSD with an old age pensioner retirement squad has outperformed Rohit and Kohli who have superstar after superstar in the XI

time to move on from Samson, KL, Pant, Virat  etc as these guys are just not good tacticians

rohit isn’t a great captain but he has the goat squad so he can stay

DK resigned last year. Morgan has been the captain throughout this season. At least get the facts right when you're posting rubbish.

And pretty sure KKR would not have made it to playoffs had the IPL gone on as expected. Lots of luck for KKR this season just like WC 2019 final for England.

Funny defence for Morgan. Rohit and Dhoni have had average numbers but not such abysmal numbers in those seasons where their team won the IPL.

Morgan : 16 Matches, 129 runs@12, SR of 99

Dhoni (post retirement): 15 matches, 114 runs@16, SR 106

Both contenders for the worst performance by a captain leading a team for the entire season.

Those 5 WC 100s by Rohit still hurting
