These new teams will be left with oldies like Dhawan, Uthappa, Rahane, Pujara, Rayudu, Pandey, Jadhav to chose from. If these existing teams don't retain their core players, then people will get disenchanted with the teams as they will not have anything in the past to relate the team to. Imagine if Rohit starts captaining CSK and Dhoni captains MI, neither MI nor CSK followers will be able to relate to them and accept them as their own. Last year CSK was second from last, now they are in the finals. Last year MI won, this time they could not even qualify for the playoffs.
