Yes it is but on such tracks a draw is likely result, most likely if rain/bad light interrupts constantly! Personally I'd prefer if we had pitches similar to the ones we had during 2007-11 at home, but more than that I want us to pummel NZ like the minnows they are against Oz

Umesh, Siraj, Ashwin, Jaddu and Axar are much better than half fit Ishant, Bumrah, Ashwin, Nadeem and Sundar. Plus the captaincy impact. We should get an easy win
SRT100 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 KL Mayank Pujara Gill Rahane Bharath Jaddu Ash Axar Siraj Umesh Looking forward to this, I enjoy seeing our spinners terrorize SENA batsmen. In Indian conditions, Jaddu, Ash and Axar are definitely the equivalent of a decent batsmen (being conservative, probably a bit more). While 5 bowlers may feel excessive, our 3 spinners can all bat well. It definitely needs one of KL,Mayank,Pujara, Rahane to anchor the innings to provide a decent score. I would actually argue that playing Siraj and Umesh is a waste, we need only one of them and potentially be replaced by a batsmen. The last test series showed how underbowled the pace bowlers were due to the pitch. However, India wont deviate from its 5 bowler strategy. With Hitman, Pant and Kohli missing going with 6batsmen, wicketkeeper and 4 bowlers may be a better lineup. @express bowling thoughts??????

Can happen. India have inflicted the most damage upon opposing teams since 2015.

With one little adjustment, that is Gill at 5 so that he can replace Rahane in the near future. 2. We need 2 fast bowlers. The first reason is that there maybe phases in the game when the wicket flattens but there is some reverse swing on offer. This covers all bases. The second reason is that, by playing 2 Fast bowlers, we get a chance to create a larger pool of quick bowlers with actual match practice. And this larger pool is needed as quick bowlers are very injury prone. As you said, this line-up has batting till 9 and that is good enough. Edited November 23, 2021 by express bowling SRT100 1

Ideally, we want both. Absolutely pummeling the opposition and winning ... plus sending down some really hostile spells from time to time to demoralize the Kiwis ... have to be the twin aim. The great WI teams of 1976 to 1995 did both ... and that still remains the gold standard in test cricket. There never were more fearsome and more effective teams in World Cricket. SRT100 and Jay 2

I just hope that if the pitch is anything like we had for the England series, that maybe they consider 4 bowlers only. I dont disagree with what you said, if the pitch flattens and there is reverse, it will be terrible to have just one bowler. Knowing our luck that bowler will break down too. I can see how its best practice to go with 2 pace and 3 spinners. express bowling 1

Believe me this indian bowling attack can be ruthless if they want as shown vs australia and England. They definitely don't play to their potential vs n.z. I think it will change now. Surely india will be fired up this time vs Kiwis. express bowling 1

Any news of the pitch? I just hope its the same type as the ones used vs England where India opened with spin. Its the one main reason I love Test match cricket in India, every session is exciting, the game finishes usually under 4 days and wickets are always around the corner. Seeing English players and supporters cry and complain added to the enjoyment.

Rather stupid if this is the case, India bat first and have the capacity to be bowled out early. Not to say that wont happen with spin, but with a slow turning track we have NZ right in the cross hairs. Makes the toss interesting, India should bowl first if its to aid seam.
Norman Posted November 23, 2021 Author Posted November 23, 2021 So Rahul too is out. All stars aligning for our first home series defeat in a decade. Of course it's the Kiwis who that..

I don't like dust bowls either but Australia does not prepare sporting pitches, atleast in the past decade. I think they have had most draws than any other test country in that time. They just prepare flat roads and hope their batsmen can out bat opposition England is the best country as far as sporting pitches go. If only they had good weather Edited November 24, 2021 by Serpico

I will be absolutely distraught if we lose even one test to these overrated twerps. We beat Aussies away. We cannot lose to these fodders at home. I don't care whom we are missing. No excuses.
