Superb pace variation from Sundar.  He has improved. He used to bowl every ball at 101 kph. He dropped down to 80 mph.

What a game for Himachal Pradesh.. Who would have thought they would do what Karnataka couldn’t do for some time !!

 

Awesome team game.. they don’t have superstars or stardom but pure passion & commitment to the team, how everyone played bravely & did their role perfectly & dhawan led from the front.. To back yourself chasing 300+ runs in the final against a team which has dominated white ball cricket says something..

 

Some producer from Himachal Pradesh may make a movie like 83 maybe “21”.. an inspiration for young HP kids..

WTF was that batting order from TN? Sai Kishore and Ashwin batting up the order while Shankar and Sundar batting at 8 and 9?

Congrats HP. I know it was an uber patta wicket. But whatever little i saw they were unfazed. THey looked very confident. At no point they showed any nerves. Seamers were very poor. But main reason for the loss was TN's batting in the end overs. they were 299/6 in 47.2 overs with Sharukh batting. They ended up getting bowled out for 314 in 49.4 overs. Basically made 15 runs in the last 2.4 overs.

TN is experimenting too much. SRK should have batted higher. Also why is Sai Kishore being used as No. 3?

TN lost their minds. KKD and Indrajith had to play out of their skin to get them to a good position. Sharuk's firework was also needed. Still they were short by 30 to 40 runs.

They were stupid to bat Sai Kishore and M Ashwin at 3 and 4.. WTF were they thinking

Rishi Dhawan 458 runs and 17 wickets. Must be the best ever all round performance in VH Trophy history! Pity he is nearly 32 (could actually be 34-35), else could have soon pushed for a LOI spot despite his speed limitations (max 135 kmph, average 128-130 kmph).

he is not int'l class with bat or ball. he played a few odis + t20s and looked very unconvincing in both. it's not the age that is the major issue, but his skill set (or lack thereof)

Why would you judge him for how he did 6 years ago? Players improve over age or after failed starts in international cricket. He has had a resurgence in the last 3-4 years. Should be appreciated rather than being mocked for not being international class or for not having the skills (not sure why when he has consistently done so well in the VHT and SMAT for a few seasons now).

 

Like I said his time for international cricket is over but good on him to lead Himachal cricket to a new level. I hope he gets rewarded with a decent IPL contract and earns some good money.
