spineless cricinfo

while most people have shifted to cricbuzz for scores, cricinfo still gets lot of hits for their articles but off late they have become subservient to Team India superstars for fear of backlash from fans or boycotting of interviews from players their articles now give an impression as if nothing is wrong with the Indian team.. even the likes of Sid Monga now write cover up articles.. pathetic.

It was all over when espn bought it. Espn are the biggest stooges to the sports associations as they get the live sports rights from them. Simple. You cant antagonise a sporting association and expect to get live tv rights from them

Espn in broadcasting used to be dope..  The Star ESPN split I think was killer blow to quality broadcast in India.  Now everywhere it's all about sucking upto our superstars..

I remember the 1996 saf series by espn and also the brett lee 1999 aus series. The camera angles the kind of graphics the commentators the field heat map were all new things of wonder to our eyes. Also the 1998 ind tour of nz where azhar scored a fab ton in first test.. seriously good production standards..

Even the preview in cricinfo for tomorrows test match at wanderers doesnt mention the pathetic record of Kohli but does mention that Pujara & Rahane are on the chopping block if India decide to change the team composition. Could have atleast mentioned that all 3 are short of runs.

In theory they are right.

 

Kohli is not on the chopping block as he is the captain.

 

Will be interesting if they say Kohli could be axed when the next Test squad is announced for a future series.
